I Had a lot of fun at this hostel. It was laid back and very social but not a party hostel. The staff were super helpful.

It's worth it to stay here just for the pool and the incredible view of the volcano. The dorm rooms were pretty average and the food was pretty pricey, but all the guys at reception were incredibly friendly and helpful, always willing to spend a couple of minutes with you answering your questions about activities, places to go etc.

OMG I love this hostel, although in fairness it hardly resembles a hostel at all.I was blown away by this hostel. On arrival the staff were awesome, friendly and welcoming and bi lingual. There is a large swimming pool, restaurant and bar, free internet and wifi, security lockers, hammocks to watch the sunset and volcano from......The rooms even have a/c and a private bathroom, heaven.I stayed in a dorm and the bed was really comfy. You really need to stay here to appreciate how great this hostel is, the vibe

cleanest place in la fortuna and the price can't be beat! more like a hotel than a hostel. super close bus ride to arenal and hot springs. wouldn't stay in any other place in la fortuna

Quite noisy hostel with music from the bar and then club acreoss the street, but very clean. Didn't like that they left windows wide open after cleaning your room so anyone could get in your room. Limited air con with no control so froze at night, too hot in day. Only one guy on reception who was very helpful and friendly but they need more staff as it was busy. Food overpriced in cafe and no kitchen or fridge but not far from cheaper options. Overall OK hostel to stay in.

Bills itself as s five-star hostel, but doesn\'t quite hit the mark. A guest kitchen and free coffee (and tea?) would earn this otherwise grand hostel a cordon bleu rosette. I\'m just saying.

One of the cleanest, nicest hostels I've stayed at. It really is a backpackers resort and I would recommend it to anyone looking for an affordable nice place to stay in la fortuna.

Great staff, Great music. Met a lot of people. Staff took us to a water fall when he got off work. Great place. Beds are noisey (haha)

Great location not too far from the center of town. Very clean. Always had hot water. Crowded but definitely worth the cost.

One of the best hostels I have stayed at in Costa Rica. The staff were very informative and eager to help with arranging activities. The ambiance was very welcoming. Kitchen prepared delicious and filling meals for reasonable prices. Excellent location.

Arenal Backpackers is a great dorm option to stay in. It's cheap, most of the rooms have A/C, hot showers, and are kept really clean. It is also a great place to hang out and meet people at the pool or the bar/restaurant area. The tours they offer are all way overpriced, so ask where the supermercado is and there's a great place right across the street from it to book tours that are cheaper!

The hostel was okay overall, but the beds were small and uncomfortable, at least in the dorms. Ironically they have high tech keycard locks on thier dorm doors, but the big sliding windows on each room can be opened from the outside so its pointless. So unless you put something in your lockers, it could get stolen very easily, but at least they have lockers. They have a nice, but expensive food service, though you have to get thier breakfast sandwich if you go, it is amazing.

Unfortunately, I did not get to stay here. After several emails back and forth, I was told our reservation would be held past the 4 pm check in time because I had alerted them to our arrival time. I have an email confirming this. Upon arrival, I learned that they had given away our reservation and were all booked at this point. However, the front desk was helpful in finding us other options, so I gave the staff a better rating. The facilities did look nice and we were disappointed not to stay.

Its a great hostel with everything you need and a very helpful staff. Food can be a little expensive but there are nice places to eat near by. Totally recommended.

It was a great place to start our trip in Costa Rica. The staff was very attentive and helpful with scheduling tours. Their recommended night tour turned out to be one of the highlights of the trip. The pool was refreshing and the food was delicious. If you take the night tour that's just next door, say hello to Giovanni for me. Pura Vida!

Great spot. Wonderful staff, very organized and helpful. And they really know the area, and the people, which is an awesome thing to have access to. Always ready to help. I\'d go back any day. Less social in the evenings than some other hostels I have stayed in.

One of the nicest hostels I've ever stayed at. The pool is nice and people take advantage of it. Staff pointed me in the right direction everytime I had a question. The Hostel is nicer then the city of La Fortuna in my opinion.
