This place is really a resort! It is gorgeous! We stayed in a private room. AC worked great! We had to share the bathroom and showers but had no issues. Shower was hot with good pressure. The reception staff were great. The only drawback is there is no kitchen to cook your own food. You can order food there but it's a bit pricey and the lady behind the counter is not very friendly. Happy hour is good. Drinks are two for $6.

The bar staff was really friendly - the drinks were tasty. The front desk was not helpful and there are no lockers in the room. The tour desk was unstaffed on the 3 days we were there. The plugs in the room are not conveniently located.

I stayed in one of the 8 bed female dorm, it can be tricky sharing one shower room! but this place has extra showers and rest rooms downstairs which is a great bonus. The pool is amazing as is also the restaurant, and not expensive. It was a good atmosphere when I was there, the common area is relaxed and it's easy to meet and talk to people. I wouldn't say the staff were overly friendly or helpful which I count as highly important so I only rated them 2 stars....

Great, beautiful facility. Only downside is it has no kitchen or fridge. They do have a bar and restaurant on sites very clean and roomy bathrooms.

It is definitely a 5*hostel. I greatly enjoyed the spacious lounge area. Great amenities and atmosphere. Very welcoming and accommodating.

Watch out the Staff: They will ask for you to pay 25 dollars for a deposit. This 25 dollars included Towels from your OWN room and the key/pass to acces the room. The Staff (2 young guys) said you have to pay this because some travelers stole the towels. When you leave and you want to get your depositi, they will give you 5 dollars instead of the 25 dollars you paid. This happened not only to me, one day before i left, there was in fact a traveler who happened the same; Staff denies it!!

This place is amazing if you're looking for a fun environment to meet new people. Staff is pretty rude at times but would still highly recommend.

Staff: Customer Service received by one of the guys in the lobby was terrible. We wanted to get some information on where to eat by the Arenal Lake, and he had no information about it. When we tried to ask someone else from the staff, this same guy from the lobby didn't allow us to talk to him because he "was busy". Resort staff are supposed to be helpful and friendly. We didn't get his name, but this should guy should be removed from the staff immediately.

Though the staff was absolutely worthless when dealing with our broken A/C unit, the pool and view made it worth it.

Private room was clean and had good AC. The bar prices were not a good value at all and the 5% credit card fee was not appreciated. Overall a nice place to stay.

Great hostel. Very short walk to town compared to other hotels that are far away from La Fortuna. Love the vibe, hammocks and great relaxing lounge area.

Most rude reception staff I have experienced on a three week trip through CR. This opinion was shared by two other travellers who I met and had stayed here.

Excellent hostel for a great price. I prefer to be in the middle of a bustling city but if you are going to check out the Arenal volcano area, this is the place to stay.

Pretty darn pleased with this hostel. It has everything you need if you're a backpacker. Was very clean too. I would absolutely use this hostel again.

Great place to stay, good vibe in the common area and friendly staff. The A/C in the room was really nice to have. Rooms were clean and secure. The food was good but a tad pricy and the beers are always good.

Felt more like a resort than a hostel....definitely a great deal for what you get!

Really cool place in a great location. Wish they had a kitchen for use. They have an onsite tour expert but make sure you clearly understand what you are getting for your money or else he will go back on his word. Lots of cool onsite activities!

The hostel is similar to a resort, but I wouldn't quite go that far. The atmosphere was great -- loved the bar area and pool, and the food is excellent and pretty cheap. There's also a kitten who's adorable. The reviews about staff are true. It definitely felt like they were just "staff" and trying to promote their tours. Prices were inconsistent and they told someone they'll get scammed in town -- not true. Some of their tours may be good and a good deal, but I would shop around to make sure.

We only stayed for one night but it was very nice though. Everything is very clean, there is a pool even with a slackline. No problems, everything was pretty good. Thank you!
