Nice hostel, friendly staff. The only drawback is that there is no kitchen, or even a fridge to store food.

Definitely a nice setup, tents were something different but $40 for one night in a canvas tent didn't seem to be sucha great value especially when hotel rooms in area with private baths aren't much more. We could definitely see how this could be a party atmosphere but when we were there the staff and oher guests didn't seem very social. We were only there for one night so maybe if we were there longer we would have met more travellers. The pool looked great but it wasn't very hot weather

Good place. The staff was helpful. We stayed in the tent and it was cool. Rather humid during the night, but still a good place to stay. The pool area is excellent. The atmosphere was good and it's rather near from the town center (5min)

Great stay, except you MUST call ahead to make sure your reservation is actually in their system. Multiple people, including us, arrived with a confirmation number and everything, and weren't in their system. The best way is to call ahead of time.

Arenal Backpackers was amazing. We stayed in a platform tent and it was so nice and clean it felt like a hotel room. The whole place was beautiful, you can see the volcano from the pool on a clear day. The showers and bathroom facilities were new and very nice. The place is right in town, close enough to walk to the hot springs. the guys at the front desk were very helpful and patient. I loved it there and didn't want to leave.

I was charged more than what Hostel World told me I would be paying upon arrival. According to the manager, it was a miscommunication on the website that he would address - whether he has and whether this is true at all, I don't know. But other guests said they were also overcharged in different ways. Also, it is across the street from a VERY loud nightclub, which plays until 2 AM, even on a Wednesday when no one was there. I ended up moving to another hotel in town after the first night.

Fun hostel to stay at. They have a bar that serves beer and mixed drinks and some food. Happy hour is pretty good. AC at night is a plus. The pool is nice and there are lots of hammocks. Rooms were clean and pretty spacious for dorm style rooms. Beds were comfortable. They offer laundry service at a good price. I would definitely recommend staying at this hostel.

Great great hostel. The tent accommodations are very nice for a couple (not buggy), and the staff was very friendly in booking tours. We shopped around a bit for prices, and those at the hostel were the best we found. One of the best hostels we stayed at in Costa Rica.

Swankiest hostel I've ever stayed at. Felt like a beach resort. There was a leak in the roof of our dorm room, but it was very nice, and safe. The resturant across the street is really good, and I would recommend it. It's a $4-5 taxi to Baldi Springs. They book whatever you want, and have great recommendations.

Of the 5 hostels we have been to in Costa Rica, Arenal Backpackers Resort has definitely been our favorite. The staff was so friendly and helpful. They are willing to go to great lengths to accommodate you in any way possible. The rooms were clean and bathrooms were nice and had hot water. The pool and hammocks were awesome and it was nice to have beer readily available on site. Only downfall is it was a little farther away from town than some of the other hostels but it was well worth the walk.

Great security, awesome staff. Right near the eating and stuff of the Arenal town and the pool is super nice. Cleanest bathrooms yet!! Beware, the staff liked to keep all. Room windows totally open during the day. Also, AC did not work well. It was better to sleep with open windows. Lastly, check prices for hot sprig trips before you buy from Arenal backpackers because they charged us more than anyone else we met.

Great balance of price- quality! Amazing staff, really kind people that help you to make your trip so much easier. It is close to several restaurants, hot springs and canopy activities. FOR SURE IT IS A PLACE TO GO BACK!!

Besides the other 7 people sleeping in the room with you, it's basically a hotel. In-house restaurant/bar are actually cheaper than/same as many places in town, though the hours are short. The lobby area is spacious and a cool place to chill with Die Antwoord and the like being played at night. Staff is helpful and pro - actually wished they would've come out from behind the desk and chilled w us! Hammock circle is enticing but wet if it rains. When it rains. It rains a lot in late November.

Best hostel I have ever stayed in. As a frequent traveler this was like the Hilton of hostels. Having a HOT shower, a pool, bar and restaurant to accompany a kick ass communal area was awesome. On top of it all, this is also the absolute safest hostel I have ever stayed in. Locked gate and guard at night. Had a wonderful time, met great people, loved all the gorgeous Tico's working the front desk, and my experience was amazing. Thank you!
