I have stayed in many hostels and hotels but I must say the Arenal Hostel Resort is one of my favorites. Jesse runs a first class place, he always made me feel warm and welcomed. Tours were so easy to book with them, their in house tour guide alosno is amazing and great guide. He truly loves his job and it shows with his tours. The only negative is the shower was not working well when I was there but is probably fixed by now. This place just gives off good vibes if your in La Fortuna stay there

This hostel had a lot of charm - palm trees, hammocks, an outdoor swimming pool and wet bar, and rocking chairs on the decks outside the rooms. We stayed in a 3-bedroom private suite and the rooms were clean - I would say even more hotel-like. The hostel is right in the middle of La Fortuna and walking distance to several restaurants and corner stores. The hot shower was not hot, but they had wi fi and even a welcome cocktail waiting for us at the bar. The hostel had a locked gate and buzzer.

The staff was not very friendly. They were business like, but not personable. Other hostel staff have made us feel at home and very welcome and that is the atmosphere we like.

I really enjoyed my stay at the Arenal Hostel Resort. The hostel had a great design, the staff were great, and the bar was ace run by a great cocktail maker called Manuel. I would definitely stay there again and recommend this hostel to others.

I was passed off to Pepito's place. After a very long ride we were pushed off across the street . We were told by that guy that we had overpayed for Baldi Tickets and in fact we did by $10 . The pool is extremely small and we didn't even swim there. Paid way too much! Lots of places in La Fortuna, wish we would have went elsewhere.

It feels more like a resort than a hostel, with its clean pool, the bar, the palms and the hammocks, ... . Rooms and bathrooms are spotless and they had the cleanest fridge I have ever seen in a hostel. The staff was very friendly and helpful, too. It is not the cheapest hostel but well worth the price if you want to relax. It is located in the centre of La Fortuna.

The girl at the front desk helped us set up several tours with different companies that the hostel recommended. We were very pleased with all of them. The location of this hostel was perfect- right in the middle of everything. It was a quiet, safe hostel that I would definitely recommend.

So much character and so welcoming! If you are looking for a personal and family type atmosphere this is the place to go. Everyone was very inviting and available to answer questions. We even called the manager at home one night when we forgot where a restaurant was. The dorms were very clean, feeling more like a hotel than what I expected a hostel to be.

Lovely private rooms and pool. In the heart of La Fortuna, And very convenient to supermarket and a good soda(out back door). Ample parking and helpful staff. Clean, quiet, and comfy. A-ok! Note: do not confuse with the nearby Arenal backpackers hostel resort, or Arenal hostel.... they are easy to mixup, and all in tha same hood.

This is a great hostel / hotel. I paid $44 for a private room / bathroom, which was very simply furnished (a bed, tv, nightstand), but was acceptable for the price. The grounds are tastefully done, with hammocks, palm trees, a pretty water fountain and a small pool / bar area. While there isn't much of a view from the rooms, the owners are in the process of creating a rooftop patio. Jesse and management were all very helpful with booking activities, bus tickets, taxis, etc. Overall very pleased.

A pool was being completed when we left, once it's done it should be quite cool. One of the staff Nolan was very, very helpful and was free with information about alternative activities or ways of getting somewhere. Otherwise, the rest of staff just kept pushing package deals on us and trying to get us to go to Baldi springs (which pays commission to hotels!)... not cool. There was a very noisy air con box outside our room, it kept me up, I complained, but nothing was done about it.

Our stay was for 3 nights. The facilities were fine, but I was concerned about security the AC would only come on at night, so these HUGE windows would be open all day. I was in room 3, which was directly in front of the pool where there were a lot of people. It would be very easy for anyone to enter the room via the open window. Also the hostel was EXCEPTIONALLY loud. Didn\'t matter if the windows were closed or not. The 11pm \"quiet hours\" didn\'t mean anything on weekends. FRUSTRATING!

If a clean, quiet and comfortable room is what your looking for - with access to a kitchen, internet, laundry, located right in the middle of town - this is the place for you. The woman on the front desk was a great help, very friendly. However, water supply came on and off while we were there, sinks weren't connected and fridges weren't turned on.

Hostel was more like a hotel. Huge rooms, private bath, A/C, and small fridge were great. The place is kept immaculately clean, even the floor under the bed was clean. Only downside is there is no breakfast (hope the hostel offers this in the future) and the kitchen is small / very crowded in the morning. The front desk can also reserve all activities in the area, which make things very easy for travelers.

Wery nice place, beautiful. I highly recomend it. You are practicaly in the center of la fortuna. Very friendly staff, espacialy the manager Thomas, tlak to him he is very friendly and full of interesting stories. They can arrange the best tours for you at the reception. We stayed in a 6 bed dorm with private bathroom. Nothing to complain.
