- The staff was not really helpful nor offered proactive help - Kitchen is very small and not well equipped - Dorms towards the street are very noisy - Only take credit cards above $30 which isn't stated anywhere

Really cool place, loved the mini pool and hammocks. The room was perfect. You're also located right in the town of La Fortuna so everyday things are easy to access - not like the gated (and boring) resorts located closer to the Arenal Volcano.

My hostel experience here at Arenal tops the rest \i have experienced. Welcoming staff, helpful, and genuinly nice and make one feel like you are at home. I met many other interesting people also traveling solo or with spouse from all over the globe. A must go again soon to see more things in the Arenal area! The place is very well kept up and has a modern feel to it, great breakfast option and organized events to get us out in the community. 5 stars! \i miss it already.

This is a very nice, clean hostel with resort type facilities . It is located across from a church that borders the lovely Central Park. The dorm rooms are spacious with lockers for your valuables and mine had a balcony with rocking chairs looking out at the church and park. The reception is attractive and common areas are well landscaped with hammocks, a pool with swim up bar and nice guest kitchen area. They offer buffet breakfast for additional fee.

Facilities were fine, the food was good for bar type food and great atmosphere. The staff was helpful and friendly. 2 of the bartenders were great, especially the one whose mom is the cook. Sorry, I forgot the names. All went well except the last night. (See comment below.)

I love the location and layout of this hostel! I felt like I was in a resort when I first walked in! Breakfast is not included and restaurant is a bit expensive but comparable for the area. The host was very friendly and knowledgeable about all the activities in the area.

Nice people, great location, I'd definitely stay here again. For security purposes though, only guests are allowed in the hostel (including the bar area and courtyard) so their fiestas are gringos drinking and singing around the bar area.

Hands down, the best hostel in Costa Rica and in my top 3 in the whole of Latin America. Jesse is a hero - fantastic knowledge of area. Dorms are really clean and comfy, each with really good private bathroom. The communal bar is great and good is lovely and cheap. Fantastic location.

Overall this was a great stop. They give you a free "welcome" drink. Jesse is a font of info and very available and happy to help....let him. Rest of staff is terrific too. Rocking chairs are a nice touch. Tell 'em you want breakfast the night before and you'll save a buck.....$6 buffet. Well maintained, a/c, tv, small swimming pool, bar, music until 10 pm, no frills. Gotta rent your towel.

Jesse was very helpful and nice. The hostel felt like a resort. A couple things in the room didn't work and the water pressure in the shower was very low, but overall a great stay. The swim up bar and food was excellent. You also get a welcome drink upon arrival!

Jesse and Team we're such great host while we stayed in La Fortuna. The Hostel is more like a small Hotel vs Hostel. We stayed in a private room on the first floor which was perfect. Good size and comfortable. The staff was extremely helpful and gave us great tips on the best ways to see the volcano, various hikes (guided & free), and great food options. I would definitely stay here again and suggest it for all who plan to visit the area.

This hostel was a solid choice, no complaints whatsoever. Jesse was very helpful in setting up activities and travel arrangements. The poolside bar was pretty cool, and there was a great hangout area in the courtyard of the hostel. I'd definitely stay here again.

Excellent staff that helped me co-ordinate my trip to the thermal spa and my jeep-boat-jeep to Santa Elena with minimal fuss. Really nice rocking chair on balconies to enjoy the views of the mountains. Can be loud on Saturday night because of the BBQ but was very happy with the atmosphere and accommodation. They serve a good all you can eat breakfast for $7, which is good if you are leaving early and won't eat for a while until your next destination.

Great hostel. Host Jesse goes out of his way to help you meet people. Welcome drink definitely welcome! Great pool. Super friendly place. Easy to make friends. Right in the center of La Fortuna. Easy to walk to local bars and restaurants. Breakfast ($6) is amazing! Those potatoes were SICK!!! Kitchen available for use, and hostel really close to grocery store. No lockers in room is a minus. A little pricier than the average hostel. But worth it!

Great location and atmosphere... pool, bar, hammocks... very relaxed. Bit noisy if you are in a room by the bar as loud music plays until 10:00pm most nights. .. but then we are a pair of old farts!

Great hostel! Amazing location, really comfy beds, great staff. Water in the bathroom stayed hot for a good amount of time which was a gem after many cool showers in other parts of CR. Lots to do nearby as far as tours - just be sure to shop around. Overall this is a great deal for what you're paying. I loved my stay here!

The hostel has a look of a fancy hotel, with a swimming pool, water fountain and beautiful green garden. The place is well worth the money except for lack of hot water.

Happy hours were awesome! The front desk was helpful. Food was super yummy! Although it was rainy the whole time I spent there, the outdoor common area- filled with hammocks- looked very comfortable and chill.
