Argyle Backpackers was a pleasant surprise. As a visiting student the enviornment provided everything I needed and was as great pace to begin my Edinburgh, Scotland experience at. A lot of students and young travelers with exceptional proximity to the University and into the downtown area - A great lounge area in a glass conservatory to relax and meet new people from around the world and a very secure place. This hostel is quite nice compared to a few others we\'ve had to stay in... Cute and pretty clean - what more can you ask for? It\'s definately more mellow... One of the staffs was not helpful at all, she didn't know anything about the attractions in Edinburgh. Also she didn't really want to help us. When I asked her questions, she only said 'Yes' or 'No'. Great hostel, lovely dining/kitchen area, and tropical fish in the TV room. About 10 minutes from the city by bus, or 30 to walk.
