Washing facilities were dirty, a lot of hairs on the ground.

The room was clean and cute, and the kitchen and bathrooms were also clean and complete. Some of the staff was not very helpful and did not give a good advice when asked for the best way for going somewhere.

I had a great time both my stays here and always had a friendly welcome from the staff and Geri and Lee. The facilities are well equipped and everything is clean and comfortable. It's great to have such a welcoming place to stay away from home and I wouldn't stay anywhere else in Christchurch.

A printed list of "rules" was provided at check-in of things you couldn't do - unneccessary to hand something like this out to people. Should post the list and let people know to have a read or verbally let people know some guidelines. Don't need to treat people like children - at least give the guests the benefit of the doubt. Also, only a fitted sheet and comforter was provided. Most hostels will provide a top sheed as it is more hygenic. Comforters aren't cleaned as often.

The hostel was comfy and clean, all of the staff were kind, helpful and had good senses of humour (very important) but the overall atmosphere was spoiled by the fact that the hostel seemed to just be after money. There seemed to be a fee for everything and the massive notice in the kitchen telling you there's a $1150 fine for setting the fire alarm off when there isn't even an extractor fan seems unfair.

Decent hostel. Walking distance to Red Zone. Clean where it counts. Staff mostly German. Interestingly the place is covered in rather strictly worded, and quite laughably strict it must be said, notices about "you vill vash your dishes" "do not vaste time on ze computers". The place doesn't do itself any favours with all those signs everywhere. But the tv room and dorms are quite comfortable so happy days.

On the surface this is quite a good hostel. Nice garden, very clean, decent kitchen, art on the wall and good facilities. But it just had this feeling of negativity. Everywhere you look is a sign that says "No", "Dont" etc. No pleases or thanks and lots of threats of eviction. All hostels have these rules of course but these were just in your face constantly. I know some backpackers are grubs but I think there are politer ways to communicate to guests. Probably wouldnt come back as a result.

We only stayed one night, so didn't have time to check everything. What we saw was good. The room had lots of space and the beds where very comfortable. Nice little hostel.

Nice little place very good in all areas across the board. Staff could be a little more talkative and involved with the hosts however all staff that were spoken to were pleasant enough. Prices of stay however were a little high, as are many of the few surviving hostels there are left in earthquake hit Christchurch. Decent enough hostel to use though none-the-less. Recommended for short to medium length stays. *Traveller's beware that there are little amenities on this side of town in particular.

Nice small hostel, excellent kitchen and clean rooms. Most of the open attractions seemed to be on the other side of town but its only a 15 min walk.

Friendly staff and hostel, pretty good kitchen, good access to computers, 20MB free wifi with booking. Not the cleanest bathrooms as there aren't that many, no lockers.
