Checked in on a wednesday, when they provide free dinner. The dorm room was for two, so nice and comfortable. Free internet, and free towel, which was great, cos every little bit helps when you're on a budget. :) Loved the selection of condiments available for preparing your own meals. Overall, a great stay.

Clean and good hostel, the people that owns it is really nice and welcoming, felt almost like a home stay. A bit far from the shops since the center in Christchurch is closed and you have to walk around it but if we go back we would definitely stay here again.

Due to the "red zone" now in place around central Christchurch this is a close as you can get to the city without being in the bad stuff, only a 20 min walk to the new "Re-start" shopping mall... Friendly staff always around to have a chat. good rooms with clean sheets, & big enough kitchen area with plenty of free stuff to help with your cooking, plus a lovely garden area.

Around the world b&p is located outside of the "red zone" so location is pretty good at the moment. Otherwise it's bit far from the restaurants and supermarkets. BUT there is world's best cafe next door! They serve exellent breakfast resenable price. Kitchen is very clean and spacy. Rooms and showers were ok too. Internet are slow but free.

Nice hostel that has a friendly staff doing a great job. This hostel fill a need for affordable accommodations in Christchurch area. Security lookers would be a nice touch, but would stay here again. Thanks...K!

This hostel is fantastic for one main reason – the couple who own it. As soon as I arrived they offered to give me a lift to the supermarket, they lent me their umbrella in the rain, they chatted away and carried my bags to my bus when I left. I was only there for one night, but it made such a change to the usual stay at Base and Nomad hostels, as I really felt looked after and at home. I wish my stay could have been longer, but Christchurch is so badly destroyed right now, theres not much to do

The staff was welcoming, there were many great amenities: a separate room with a phone so you could make calls without excess noise videos available without a fee separate tv and internet rooms with doors a roomy, well set up kitchen. I really liked the large backyard garden area.

This was the quietest hostel I have ever stayed in. Staff was excellent.

Superb mirror artwork and on the walls of the stairwell. Good feeling in the hostel, reception helpful. Off-street parking more than adequate during my stay. I would suggest some maintenance needed on the upstairs unisex bathroom. The door doesn\'t latch closed and that helps reduce noise. Hand-drier doesn\'t work and there are no paper towels. Cleanliness rated average because there weren\'t any spare tea towels. Free internet was great. Overall, good location and value.

Was only there overnight but enjoyed my stay. Only thing to complain about is that you spelt my name incorrectly - it's Karen, not Kareb! No biggy though.

The guy working here was very friendly (The English guy). The rooms were clean and good value. Washing was expensive, especially when the drier doesn\'t dry your clothes in one go. You have to pay for Wifi like everywhere in NZ which is annoying. It\'s a joke that the owner made us pay $5 to stay in the hostel from 12-6 on the day we checked out!!

Very well run hostel. Computers were very slow but you can't complain when they're free! Good atmosphere. Everyone was very friendly. Sky TV is also a bonus. I had a lot of time to kill before my flight so it was good to have something to watch!

Excellent hostel, unfortunately Christchurch is still in a bad state. Hopefully they can recover and get the visitors coming back.
