The Hostel is nice and the location is perfect. However if you wanna have hot water for the shower you need to get up early !

Great place with the beautiful garden and wicked basement bar. Meeting people here is surely not a problem. Dorm I was is spaceous, clean. Staff and the owners are absolutely amazing! All around the clock are ready to help you with anything you need, ready to mingle with you and introduce you to another people. Great stay and for sure my place to be in Sofia! Cheers guys!!!

Great place to stay! I stayed in the rooms that were in another building further away from the main building so they were very quiet in the evening. Hotel staff is very nice and helpful.

Horrible shower arrangement - no privacy. Otherwise good.

Great place to stay and meet people, locals and travelers alike. It's a local hangout so one doesn't necessarily have to stray from the facility to mingle with Bulgarians.

The Bar is amazing! they have live concerts almost everyday. At the Hostel bar you meet zillions of locals and after all these cheap boozes you drop in your cozy warm bed and sleep. The Hostel itself is in an old building with thick walls which will not let in the music from downstairs. I have stayed in the dorms but they have beautiful big and spacious double rooms as well. I will be there again end of march. I loved it...The staff is very helpful and chilled, thanks to Boris, Ivan, Pecu, ...

Top notch hostel. Even though the bar was in full swing every night until 5am or so it was still easy to go to sleep because it is well insulated. Probably should just be a bit careful since so many non-hostel residents are coming in and out of the hostel (concerts almost every night). As of my stay (Feb 2012) there was no free breakfast offered, although there are bakeries around that are cheap and delicious. Highly, highly, highly recommend this hostel.

We stayed in a private dorm and it was outside the hostal,which I didn´t like because you couldn´t meet anyone,the streets around seemed a little bit dodgy but the location is great! It´s clean and the facilities are cool but it´s like a freezer in the rooms,it was so so cold! It´s a regular hostal,I would imagine that in the summer is way better... BUT the staff is absolutely amazing,they´re super cool and ready to help!

The staff is just wonderful : very warm, always some nice words, always "hello how are you ?" and so on. Very helpful too (they helped me to carry my bag) My room was just a little bit noisy because of the bar downstairs, and the bathroom was in bulgarian style : shower with a hole in the floor. Wifi was perfect. My room was nice. And it's very to close to Vitosha ! I would recommand this hostel for a short stay in Sofia !

Art Hostel is possibly one of the best in Europe. The vibe is fantastic with something happening downstairs in the bar every night of the week. There's always friendly locals hanging out who are happy to chat. I would recommend coming to Bulgaria just to stay at Art Hostel.
