Very friendly staff, always trying to help us and make sure we have a good time. Fluent in both English and Spanish. Good, warm, clean private room. Nice common room where you can watch movies or buy wine, snacks, use the computer (you have to pay a small small amount to use it though). Pretty good location, but have to walk for maybe 10 to 15 minutes to get to the big attractions. Minus for not having breakfast and the showers were a bit low pressure. Also not very social...
Arthy's Guesthouse is, by far, the best pic for La Paz. Best facilities & very close to the bus station. La Paz itself is not so friendly... Polluted, choked & over-crowded, which makes Arthy's all the more of a gem!
While I didn't feel particularly safe anywhere outside in the city of LaPaz, this hostel was a safe, clean, friendly place to come home to. There is a very nice common room with hundreds of movies to choose from, food items for sale, a clean kitchen, very good security, and helpful staff who speak English as well as Spanish. I enjoyed my time at the hostel very much.
I thought that the safety of the hostel and the look of it once inside was great. The staff were extremely helpful and nice. I had needed something to be delivered to the hostel in advance of my arrival, and they looked after it for me. The hostel was great. The big lounge area was a lot of fun to spend time in.

We stayed in this hostel in November 2013 and had a very nice stay. We had a nice private room, shared bathroom. The staff were friendly and helpful and there was a good atmosphere in the hostel. Breakfast was not included. The kitchen was good. WiFi was available in the room . We have no hesitation in recommending this hostel.ei
Great place near to bus station which meant we didn't use taxis the whole time in la Paz. Has everything you need and despite previous comments Internet worked great for us. Has hairdryer you can borrow and sell basic snacks/cereal.
Secure hostel close to the main bus terminal, large common room. Our room was very noisy with our window located on the main road. Showers were very poor, lukewarm with no pressure. Breakfast not included. Ok hostel for a couple of nights in La Paz.
The good things, the staff are friendly, the hostel is secure and the location is pretty good. The bad things, the shower area smells bad, it does not include breakfast you have to pay extra and the breakfast leaves a lot to be desired, the midnight curfew... do not stay here unless you are 100% certain you will not meet new friends in a fun hostel and want to stay for an extra beer because you will not get let back in until 6am. Also the single room is not good value for a good nights sleep.
Very basic hostel (this is not a guesthouse) showers awful, kitchen tiny and breakfast not included
This hostel only has private rooms which suited us being a couple not out to party (on this occasion). Very close to bus station, witches market, tour agencies etc. Breakfast is 10 BOB extra for toast and coffee. Staff were excellent, very helpful and they stored our bags while we went to the Amazon.
Quiet and simple hostel in good location. Basic, clean rooms with shared bathroom facilities. Staff super friendly and helpful with a large selection of DVDs for a chilled night in away from the hecticness of La Paz!
What a lovely place. The owners are *fantastic* -- always there, always helpful and always kind. They sell beer, wine, water and a few other things for comfort. We felt very safe and very well looked after. Don't be fooled by the little door on the outside ... this place is huge and magnificent on the inside. We had to leave at 02:00 for the airport and the owners arranged our cab and waited up for us to safely depart. Awesome!
Booked for 2 nights and extended my stay by another 4 nights after finishing a trek! Great location, staff spoke excellent English and were very helpful. Clean kitchen and the items in the salon were also reasonably priced. Showers were hot but pressure was weak like most places in South America. The midnight curfew allowed guests to have better rest at night! Only cons are that there should be thicker blankets in the room and wifi can be extremely slow at times.
A little gem in the centre of La Paz. Comfortable rooms, shared bathrooms always spotless and nice areas to chill out. Very helpful and friendly staff.
Great hostel. It's super clean and has excellent facilities and large rooms. The staff are really friendly, speak fluent English and try to help out with everything. Yes the water in the showers is only luke warm, but it's not cold and it just makes you take shorter showers. Good location to the markets and bus station as well.
Well thought out backpackers place...they had pretty much every service you could ask for and the staff were very accommodating. Only drawback is its a little difficult to meet others here. Otherwise, awesome place and would recommend it to most anyone.
A little bit more water pressure in the showers and this place would get 5 stars (at least it was hot for a few minutes). Great location, great staff, private room was perfect, fabulous indoor sun terrace on the top floor, wifi good (a little slow at times but it worked, so most important). Short walk from the major bus terminal and a short walk to main square and tourist areas.
My girlfriend got ill and they cared really excellent for us and told us which antibiotics were the right one. Very helpful! Good English speaking!
We found ALL of the staff to be extremely helpful. They did organize transportation for us, translated a bit for us, and were incredibly friendly. We did find it cold at the hostel but we were also there during, what I figure, was the 3 coldest days they've had in a while. Although the pressure from the showers was low, it was nice and hot! We would definitely stay at this hostel again... we actually recommended it to another traveller while on our trip!
