The room was tiny and smelly. Showers were dirty. Have to pay for wifi. Not very friendly. Very very busy.

A place with lots of character, it just has a nice atmosphere. Even though it is not in the centre, it's about a 7 min walk into town but they have regular shuttles there and back, day and night. A good place to stay if you're looking for something a bit more exciting than just a bog standard hostel - they have tee-pees to sleep in, turkey's and lizards roaming around the place, didgeridoo making and playing workshops etc etc.

I had an amazing experience at the hostel, people and staff were friendly. The hostel is a little out of town but it's only a 10 minute walk. I would advise this to other traveler just to experience the hostels character. I am now half way through my RTW trip and have experienced nothing like this hostel before.

Kitchen was pretty bad and having to put deposits down on pans everytime you want to cook gets tiresome. There was mouse droppings in the food storage area. Very expensive for location out of town. Rooms very basic and fans that where next to useless. Lots of things broken around the hostel which would take 10 minutes to fix but look like they have been broken for a while.

We loved the Arts Factory. It's peaceful and relaxing with a variety of different accommodations. From the moment we arrived, the staff were friendly and helpful. The location is a little out of the way from the center of town, which is awesome if you're looking for a remote, and removed getaway. The shuttle was convenient but at peak times, very busy. With a 10 person room, our door was always open, leading to more of a camping/cabin feel, so bugs and visitors came and went as they pleased.

Nice Hostel. A bit of a walk to the city. Not too far but a little inconvenient. There is a bus that runs down the street though. It was a cool atmosphere but a lot of hippies on drugs. Rooms are clean and nice large kitchen with tables outside on deck.

Was a bit of a walk to Byron Bay centre but the bar/restaurant across the courtyard was good. Pretty basic room but fine for a few nights. Staff were really friendly when we wanted to book some activities. Main drawnback was the noise of people being dropped off in the shuttle bus from town at 2am in the morn!

Hostel looked nice walking around initially but showers and toilets were filthy.. and the beds were so uncomfortable!! the hostel is a walk from the city which we knew, but they also told us there would be a bus everyday through til 4am.. but the bus was cancelled which left is walking to and from in the dark across a railtrack also.. i wouldnt recommend for more than a night...

A nice hostel situated a 15mins walk from town. A shuttle bus takes you there and back. Good bar on site with entertainment most nights and nice clean dormitories. Breakfast was poor and overpriced - Beans on Toast had approx 11 beans in total! Otherwise good stay!

4-bed dorm is very small. Blankets are not provided, need to give a deposit to get some. A bit noisy at night. Otherwise great.
