To begin with, only by the time of check-in I was informed that the room was actually on the "new" annex building -- that happens to be a Japanese house where they're stocking guests. The "staff" is a old couple that living there. There was one shower for 3 floors of rooms -- and the door could not be closed. The room itself is closed with a small fragile lock even a child can open. No front desk and front door was always open. There are a lot of good hostel in Tokyo no need to come here.

- Repairing the doors (lockers) would be nice. - Adding some shelves in the room (dormitory at least) to allow people to put their bags/cloths somewhere else than on the floor would be nice - Adding a shelf in the shower to put our soap somewhere else than on the floor would be nice - Having a living room with couches like in most of other hostels to chill would be great and definitely a plus !

in comparison to japanese standard the rate is rather poor, after having a night in kyoto and osaka i need to say that toilets and showers smell bed, maybe because of an old piepes or the nature of the building. I admit that I saw they were cleaned. we also needed to slam the door of our room to close them and it really disturbs other people sleeping there (the room next to sink on the 3rd floor really needs to change the lock)

Directions to the hostel weren't clear enough. People took a long time trying to get to it.

Not clean at all. No wonder there has been bedbugs; the place was dirty! Already when I entered to the reception/bar it smelled kind of awfull; of dirty old man, tobacco and old beer that has fallen to the floor and no-one hasn't cleaned it. Under the beds there were very thick layers of dust and some trash. Also the staff was actually one girl who seemed to be very stressed and was forgetting things at least regarding me. I had to ask for a pillow and "free drink ticket".

Double room in the separate building was badly laid out, the bed was positioned in a weird way since the room was quite small, there wasn't much life in that building either even though the place was fully booked. In fact the only other people we saw there were staff. Main building seemed a lot more sociable and it was easy to find people to talk to in the bar but obviously didnt see any of the rooms in that building .

I rated security low because the small lockers are downstair on the ground floor next to entrance door while ALL bedroom are on 2nd floor and up and I do not see any keys ready for you to use. Someone can just pick up small lockers and run away. Other than that, great hostel but need more character.

Quite far from train station, quite a prob for traveller w/ big luggage. It's nice that we arrived there around 10am they let us to check in early. I don't know about other room, but my room have no window. I mean, yes it have a window, but no mirror, so the wind from outside can easily came in to my room. The weather so cold at the time I stayed there and it just like I sleep outside. And I can clearly hear people talking outside the hostel when I sleep, quite annoy me. AC doesn't work, too

This is my second time @ Asakusa Smile in Bekkan branch. I think the first time all facilities were better than this.I'm not impressed with it. Especially, the security it's just a simple lock inside my room, double private room at the first floor, and it doesn't look like the same pic as shown at the web page at all. I know that you want to expand the space to make some more rooms but you should think the security for your customer too. Anyway, the staffs are still great.

I made a mistake when booking through the Internet. Luckily, the hotel clerk changed it for me. Thanks to the Asakusa Smile.

The room are a little bit small and not so clean. There are lockers, but they are outside of the room... It's a cheap place to stay and is ok for 1 or 2 night, but no more... The only good place is the hostel bar ^^

No lift, all the rooms are on the Fourth Floor, have to climb up with heavy luggage... Soundproofing is very bad, can hear the noise of another room, not good for sleeping. The bed is dilapidated, when we moved the body, the bed has terrible sound come out. Wi-fi cannot be used in the room, really inconvenient. A bit remote from the restaurant and shopping area.

I've got a a dirty room with 3 more people who lived there fir 3 months. I had Ticks in my bed, and i had to by a medication for that, and the stuff didn't want to give me my money back for the medication, even that i showed them the recipit! After i left the hostel i was sitting outside trying to find another place to stay- wothout ticks. The guy from the stuff came out and told me:"you are not our guest anymore, please leave here" So i had to find nice people who can let me use their wifi!
