Nothing special about this place. It does have a good location (near some cool sights and the Asakusa station), but the main drawback was that the reception closed everyday from 12-3. That made it difficult to ask questions, use guidebooks, etc.

It\'s an acceptable value for money. Lawson 100 store is nearby, which means you can eat super-cheap. There are computers with free internet and you get a free drink on arrival. The hostel itself - the rooms are rather crammed and oldish. Hostel is not dirty, but I wouldn\'t call it clean either. At some places floors were sticky and the bathrooms were cleaned only \"superficially\". It might have been better. Bottom line: really really average and quite cheap.

its not really in the middle of everything.. its more towards the north side attraction. However for the amount I'm paying its still good!!

Checking into the hostel was pleasant and smooth. The welcome beverage is a nice touch in trying to promote social interaction. Everything was pretty clean, though for the price we were disappointed that no type of breakfast was offered. Would I stay here again if I was to return to Tokyo? Probably not...but I wouldn't necessarily discourage someone from staying if it was their only choice.

I really enjoyed my time here, one of the best things was the bar as locals would come and drink and within less than a minute of me being there for the first night I was chatting to someone. The people I met were amazing and I have since stayed in touch with, they showed me things to do and nights out I wouldn't have found otherwise. The hostel could of done with being a bit more cleaner, the kitchen especially but the bedrooms were OK and the location was really good! Good value for money.

Several things were out of order. The clothes dryer was out of order for my entire stay (11 nights) and I saw no intention of it being fixed. Just a notice that it's broken and that we could use the coin laundry next door. I saw 1 cockroach in my room and 1 in the kitchen among the eating utensils. I heard rumors of a third one, also in the kitchen, from some friends. It seems that no one had ever cleaned under the bed. Ever. There was also no elevator but there were 3 floors on the building....

We were placed in the second building, bekkan, which didn't have much of the hostel atmosphere we were hoping for. There was also only one shower in the building which was very inconvenient. But the rooms were clean and the location was nice, so we give it one thumb up.

Good but not exceptional hostel. The rooms (stayed in 4b-dorm) were quite small with no real space to put bags or a suitcase, no AC if I remember correctly. No real common room to speak of, only a bar area that is used as a bar in the evenings, which allows nice chats with locals though. These, along with being located on the east side of the sumida river are the more suboptimal points. Nice and freindly staff and quite cheap for tokyo. Enjoyed the Khaosan Kabuki more though.

Having spent two weeks touring Japan and staying in several hostels we found this one decidedly unremarkable (though adequate),. Main entrance led into bar from which rooms were accessible without further security. On early morning departure we found external door left unlocked Kitchen was untidy by standards previously encountered but served its purpose.

This hostel isn't the best of it's kind, but i think, considering the expenses, that it is okay. I like the fact that it doesn't take long to get to the nearest metro station (both toei line and tokyo metro line) and that the area offers a lot of turist attractions. The problem at this hostel was that, living in the "becca" part of it, you have to share one shower with around 10-15-20 others, and the shower room has no lock. beside that, there is missing a common room for relaxation.

In Asaksa Smile rooms have to be refreshed and are really small. In Bukkan there is only a shower (but maybe also in Smile). Privacy for bathroom is not the best. Staff is very helpfull.

The 4th floor where some bedrooms are at REALLY have thin walls. Everything is made of wood, so even if you barely move, the wood cracks and it wakes up people nearby. Some guy was outraged because people were unintentionally making a bit of noise. As a result, the atmosphere was really unsafe because he sounded violent in his moves. I felt like there was no staff working to protect eventual customers from being attacked by that guy who seemed a bit too nervous.

Overall this hostel was lovely. The bar area was great and the fact that guests get a free drink is a really generous touch. It would be nice if the dorm rooms had more plug sockets as there seemed to be only a few sockets positioned next to certain beds. I also thought that the hostel a bit too cold in general. The fact that guests have to remove their shoes at the entrance doesn't help because the floors are linoleum which isn't really suitable for bare feet, especially in the colder months.

I stayed at this hostel for 3 nights. the rooms and beds are not so nice, a bit run down and very small (hardly no room for luggage). The reception hours are very short and not always very comfortable for check in and check out

The hostel is divided into two buildings that are streets apart. so myself and my boyfriend were a good walk away from our friend who was staying at the main Asakusa hostel. our accommodation was clean but the toilets had no soap or towels and there was only one shower which in our eyes was poor.
