A very good place to stay in Capetown. 10 mns walks through gardens alleys to main streets, buses 2 mns, and supermarket also. Nice garden, small swimming pool nearby the kitchen, café and terrace, with nice view on TAble mountain. I stayed 6 days in a big dorm. Really good atmosphere, the better place to stay in city center, because quiet and friendly I recommand it to all kinds of people, and ll come back a.s.a.p

Good vibe, helpfull staff, clean rooms and very nice facilities. A bit pricey, but it's great value for money. 5-10 minute walk from Long St. where everything is happening, also possible to walk up to Table Mountain and hike to the top if u have some time. Possible to walk from Civic Centre where the airport shuttle drops u off but ur better off getting another bus towards Gardens. Great place to meet people if ur visiting CT alone with a nice and social bar. Had a great experience at Ashanti!

Everything was great but the pizza at the bar was the worst ever.

Our room ( double) was really nice and clean. The Pool however - not so much. I couldn't even see down to the bottom . Showers smelt ab bit funny. WLAN was only at the front of the builiding and was handed out in 1h vouchers. The kitchen is clean but the fridges are a complete mess and stink like hell.

I enjoyed my stay at this hostel, one of the best while I was travelling in South Africa. The hostel was quite full and lively, ideal for solo travellers who want to met other people. My dorm was next to the pool and the kitchen where it was sometimes loud in the evening. I liked the breakfast, but not the pizza. The kitchen (except the fridge) and the showers/toilets are great and clean. The staff was helpful and friendly. The location is great (buses, supermarket) and I always felt secure.

Ashanti Lodge Gardens was simply the absolute best backpacker I've ever stayed in! Friendliest staff in the world! Always ready to give a hand with anything u need! If u are in the mood for a young, happy and safe trip, this is the BEST place to be! Music plays until late but just good stuff! The pool table, the swimming pool, the bar, the beers, the free wi-fi, great kitchen and balconies, the small safes in the room to store valuables, individual toilets and showers.Super clean! LOVED IT!
