Can't fault Ashanti really - very clean, helpful friendly staff and good facilities. It's a little out of town so not great if you want to be in the thick of the party with bars etc, but within walking distance of the Waterfront and Long Street, as well as reachable by taxi so not a problem for us. Would stay there again :)

This place is loud at night, and the staff don't seem to do anything about it... It's a bit overpriced for what you get and it's location isn't great... I've stayed at a few hostels in CT now and this one would be a 'back-up' if you can't get into one of the better ones.

We were on a 3 week vacation in South Africa doing the Cape Town, the wine region and the Garden Route. Cape was our starting point and we stayed in the Ashanti Lodge 2 nights at the beginning of our trip and 1 night at the end. The hostel is super modern, new and extremely clean. The bathrooms and shower facilities seemed all to be brand new. The staff is super friendly and helpful. The Ashanti Lodge was in fact better than some of the much more expensive B&Bs on our trip.

The only thing we missed: milk in our breakfast-coffee!

Apart from the totally disinterested receptionist, the place, it's facilities, and the location were good. The difference with the helpful receptionist at the other Ashanti lodge (Gardens) was striking, though. Also the size of the rooms and the quality of the breakfast at Gardens were superior.

It was a very comfortable stay, great facilities clean and modern, and small extras such as free pancake mix in the morning and fresh towels as well as the room and facilities being very clean.

Brand new place, very close to the sea, very quiet area. Loved the style of the place. We only had 1 night there before going back to Joburg. 10 minutes from the Waterfront with your car. Very clean, and beds are really comfy!
