Ashfield House is in the very centre of Dublin between Trinity College and O Connell St. Our visitors have said this excellent location makes the hostel a very handy little place to crash after a night in Temple Bar. This perfect home away from home has friendly and helpful staff who go out of their way to help, plus free luggage storage, a delicious and filling breakfast and an 'eat me I'm free' cabinet in the kitchen. We like their daily walking tours of Dublin.

Fabulous

Have been there twice now. Both times were fine, considering it's pretty much the cheapest option in Dublin. However, first time around the room was tiny, with six beds squeezed into it. Second time some more space between the beds, but the room was a half basement. But it was okay! Suggestion: Establish "Full-night's-sleep" rooms for people who do not party / come in drunk late at night and who also do not have to catch early flights and thus wake everyone up at 4AM. That'd be a game changer.

i only stayed here for one night so i guess my opinion is unfair. it was okay, i felt quite uncomfortable with intoxicated men in the dorm when i was the only female. my own fault for only booking a mixed dorm. showers were good, 3 showers and 2 toilets so was fine. clean but felt very cramped in an 18 bed dorm. probably wouldn’t stay again

Ashfield Hostel says

This place has the perfect combination of location and comfort, opposite Trinity College but in a quieter street. We cater to all ages - backpackers, school and university groups, families, couples, etc. We've got a free walking tour every morning, a pub crawl from the hostel every evening and free DVDs/games. The building has an elevator and our fantastic, friendly, knowledgeable, good-looking staff are happy to help anyone who needs assistance. They also have tons of recommendations; personally, I usually tell guests they should visit the Book of Kells at Trinity College and Library.
