This was the worst hostel we stayed in while we were in Dublin and we stayed in three. The room had not been cleaned at all, besides maybe changing the linens (hopefully) there were spider webs and clumps of dust in the bathroom. The heater did not work well. I would not stay in this hostel again.

Very nice hostel. I stayed in a two bed room with my friend and I was very happy with how comfortable it was. Wifi only worked in the lounge though, not really a problem but it's nice sometimes not to have to go down two stories to check the weather forecast. Breakfast was very good. The traditional bread and sweety toppings but also boiled eggs which is a big plus. Overall a very nice accommodation. Definitely recommended for budget travelers.

Connor was such a great help with figuring out tours to do! He was very knowledgable about Ireland and an all around laugh and joy to be around. He definitely made staying there a lot more worth it.

This hostel is just the perfect spot if you like to be in the center of almost everything! Plus: We had a nice room that opened to the backyard, so no noisy street or anything (if you're not so lucky you wind up with your window to the very noisy street). Most of the staff was absolutely nice (especially the guy playing the harp! Just excellent). Shower was great! The overall impression of the kitchen, room etc. was typically hostel-like, npthing special.

The room was really small for 3 people, and a few hooks and a shelf would be wonderful, but everything else was good

Our room had a window looking at the street and our wall was neighbourhing a nightclub. The insulation was very poor, constant noise thru yhe night, sometimes it felt as sleeping in a bus stop. Without earplugs it was impossible to sleep.

It is very well located. Staff is really nice. Breakfast is good. Our bedroom was always unlocked...there was only 1 bathroom and shower for the 8 of us in our room, not enough. But very good hostel!

The only problem we had was the noise from the street, even with the window closed. Our room was on O'Dolier Street side and the noise from the traffic was really loud.

The storage spaces under the beds in the 12-person room are a little inconvenient and sometimes tricky to use, but for 10€ it was pretty good, especially considering they had a nice breakfast

Best breakfast Ive ever gotten in a hostel, eggs and fruit! Great location as well. Would definitely recommend, has everything you need to make your stay comfortable!

Lockers on the rooms will improve the security and the confort: it wouldnt be necesary to keep your staff locked in the hall. Great breakfast!

When we checked in we were "treated" to a long rant by one of the staff filled with much profanity. Other than that the staff didn't really interact at all. The location is great, but the place itself is average. Each bed has a secure drawer that can be locked with a padlock (you must supply your own) which is nice.

I have been to Dublin 3 times and this is my 2nd time staying in Ashfield House (didn't stay here last time because it was fully booked). So in my opinion you shouldn't go wrong here. Ensuite bathroom is a plus. The presence of fruit salad and boiled eggs make breakfast above average. There are no lockers inside room, but I think as backpacker you should always come prepared with your own lock for your luggage. What I suggest are more hooks in room to hang jackets etc. That would be nice.

Nice location and clean sheets. The rooms were quite small and the matresses were well used. The staff was okay but not too helpfull.
