I really like this hostel because the location is so good, near temple bar and the city. Moreover I like the kitchen so you can cook your own meal. the rooms are comfortable and clean and you have your own bath. and the breakfast is also good

The main recommendation for this hostel is the staff! They are friendly helpful and efficient. Free WiFi but they could do with some new douvet covers (a bit threadbare!) and accomodation basic. Great value though and a good breakfast thrown in. Sure ya couldn't go wrong!

Very good location and nice hostel. Friendly staff. The only negative thing was that one of the staff forgot to call our taxi, as he had said and we had paid an advance for. Overall a great stay.

Dear Ashfield House Staff, it was my first time in Ireland and this place made my stay more than comfortable. I will recommend it if I may. The prices too were very fair. I love Ireland and the Irish people an if I may I would like to come back sometimes. Thank you very much for making my stay so nice. Please continue to do so for all the other tourist. Also, there were people over 30, which was very nice, too. Yours kindly Iris

We had booked a room for 4 for 2 nights. We discovered the second evening round 9PM that we had to move to another room. This has been communciated to us jsut like that without even a "sorry we should have communicated this earlier on or sorry we have tried to let you stay two nights in the same room but this has been impossible".

Lower your expectations if you plan to stay here. It doesn't feel very clean and the staff acts like they couldn't care less about you or your stay. I also believe it's over priced for what you get.

Great location, good beds (very important), the bathroom could have been a bit cleaner, really warm hall, maybe a tad too much. Fair breakfast and good staff. Would recommed it indeed.

I had a great time in Ashfield House, the location of the House is perfect, it's in the middle of everything. I met a lot of people and the livingroom is favourable for it. The personel was very nice. The only negative thing was the noise of the discotheque during the night but it's not like "terrible" with 3-4 pints of beer you don't pay any attention to it =)

The rooms and bathrooms were clean, however the kitchen/dining area left much to be desired. I realise it has mainly to do with the fact that it is a common area (the cleaning ladies did an amazing job after each breakfast!) Perhaps the information for other users should be made more visible/official? People seemed to ignore the rules for washing/drying things, cleaning tables. The other thing was air conditioning - virtually non-existent in the kitchen/dining area! What a terrible nuisance!

I was in a room that faced the front which is next to a very busy street. The windows don't block much noise. It was very loud. i could hear drunks yelling and screaming between 2 and 3 am. Ear plugs don't help much. i only stayed one night because it was way too loud. The rooms that don't face the street are probably ok? Aside of the noise everything else was decent but not great. With all of the hostels in Dublin you can definitely do much better than Ashfield house....
