The hostel itself is beautiful and has a lot of character... One can definitely feel the hard work involved in creating this hostel. We had one complaint however- at check out time the owner grew increasingly agitated and nervy. He kept reminding us of the time. We both assured him that we would be leaving soon. At 1010, he told us he would drop us to the station. Yet, my friends laundry was not finished drying. We then told him we would walk to the station but instead he basically kicked us out

Very nice place. Very friendly stuff. Great atmosphere. Very Japanese. There is a great and cheap Onsen nearby. The hostel is in walking distance from the station. Cheap and good places to eat near the hostel. I would recommend this hostel to everybody!!!

The place is pretty much perfect in terms of location and accommodation. There is no complaints from myself and my group as the staff were not only helpful but friendly. The only possible kink I could find in this place is just security. Not being able to lock your room may make people feel a little uncomfortable. I personally didn't find this a problem as the staff and people who visited were very nice and were trustworthy! I'd highly recommend staying here!!!

Wonderful hostel owned by a very nice and helpful man who does everything he can to make your stay easy and enjoyable. Traditional japanese atmosphere (it includes cold nights :) and beautiful place and surroundings. The place has such a character, you fall in love with it as soon as you arrive! Definitely the best deal in Aso!
