Asterix Hostel Reviews

This hostel is definitely one of the best I have ever stayed in - fantastic atmosphere, great breakfast, clean facilities, plenty of room to relax and socialise. My only problem with Asterix was that when you wanted a night off from partying in order to get a good night's sleep, this was difficult considering that the relax/party area had people in it for most of the night being quite loud. This was great when you wanted to party, but not when you didn't.

If there is a place in Goa where I would like to check-in over and again, it would be the Asterix Hostel. :-).

For me the best part of traveling are the people you meet. And in that category asterix hostel score full points. Its an excellent place to meet people from around the world and befriend them. No that the other aspects are lacking...the staff is very cordial and and friendly...decent breakfast is included the rent....clean rooms with lockers...located among wilderness close to the vagator beach. All in all a very good hostel. I fully recommend it...especially to single travelers.

This was the best hostel I ever stayed in! We were there for 9 days and met new and amazing people everday! WHEN I come back to Goa I will definately be staying there.

I heard great things about Asterisk and I must say it was possibly the best hostel I've ever stayed at! Loved the relaxed vibe and the staff were always helpful and chilled. It had a kitchen and great lounge area and good WiFi. The owner knows what travellers need. Had a fantastic time at Asterisk mainly because the people were amazing. Alex the Northern Irishman making me feel welcome straight away and lots of bar crawls!! This hostel is definitely the best :-)

This is the best place I have stayed in India, the set up is brilliant for those travelling alone as everyone hangs out, in the inside and outside communal areas. The staff could not be more helpful and the rooms and kitchen are immaculate, will definitely be back for another stay and would highly recommend to anyone x

A nice place to stay for backpackers.

Great place to stay and relax, and very social, definitely one of the more social hostels I've ever stayed at. A little further away from all the action on the beaches though.

Perfect hostel. This hostel is in a nice quiet tranquil location but you only have to walk to the end of the driveway to find lively bars and only a ten minute walk to the beautiful beach. The busier and lively Anguna Beach and Baga beach are only a short ride away and a highly recommend jumping on a moped which you can hire from the hostel to visit them at day or night but stay here if you prefer to keep away from the noisier spots. Great wifi, hot water and very comfortable.

Great Staff! Great experience of interacting with people from across countries.Hostel parties could have been arranged to make the interactions stronger.

This was a great stay. Thanks for setting up a great hostel guys. My only criticism would be that you should seriously consider a new person to rent scooters from. On both occasions the guy that is recommended at your reception tried to rent us really bad bikes which were not fit for purpose. The first scooter he tried to rent us literally wouldn't start and the second one had no brakes or horn. Apart from that we very much enjoyed our stay. Cheers!

A good hostel as far as hostels go and a great hostel as far as hostels in India go. The staff seemed new and not 100% competent but with a little time I think they'll get the hang of it.

The place is simple but with a lot of personality, and it has all you can ask for, the staff is very helpful and the people you get to know there makes you feel at home. If you are backpacking in Goa this is the best option in the area without any doubt.

Great place to stay in Goa! Jason, one of the owners, is a relaxed and helpful owner as are all of the staff. The place is well run, a short walk away from Little Vagator beaches, local dive drinking spots, and short rides away from other northern beaches. Didn't take a hot water shower, so not sure about that situation. Stayed just after new years and paid more than I would have wanted for Goa, but still would characterize as good value for the money given the people there. Highly recommended.

I loved Asterix and the environment that the Asterix team has created. A lot of heart went into creating an environment for travelers to meet and share experiences, and this hostel was a perfect place. The rooms were nice, and the hostel had all amenities that backpackers hope for (wifi, Internet, laundry, common room). If I ever make it back I will pay smother visit to Asterix. Thanks for the many happy memories!

I arrived stressed and straight from London and was quickly put at ease by the friendly staff and beautiful surroundings. The hostel building has a great feel and they have created a wonderful atmosphere for people to meet and share stories...everything you would want and expect from a hostel and the trips on offer aren't bad either. Jason really helped to set me up for my trip round India, I wish him every success with this project :-)

The Asterix hostel is good, clean, fun place to stay in North Goa. Stuff is friendly and very helpfull. Thank you for grat stay

Absolutely love this hostel, the layout is great and attracts a great punch of people. The staff are all friendly and really consider there guests all the time, going that extra mile. Rooms are spotless, showers are hot and water is available at the press of a button. This place is exactly what I had in mind for Christmas and New Year! I'll be coming back soon for more
