The room was quite spacious for 5 people, but the mattress was narrow enough to sleep quite bad. The wifi isn't available in the rooms and this is quite inconvenient. The cleanliness was ok but could be improved, especially under the beds. The position was great, a little bit far from the tube but next to the bus stops.

I ADORE the neighborhood. This hostel is a great value. The only thing I can complain about are the many luggage cages that can no longer lock with a padlock because they are missing the hooks. Thankfully, they let me have a safe instead. So I would advise bringing a luggage lock. I also advise you to book this hostel :-)

Great accommodations in a great neighborhood. The room could use a bit of maintenance: sticking faucet, loose toilet seat, windows that slide open with difficulty. But aside from the minor things, it's a great hostel in an excellent neighborhood at a price that's hat to beat.

This was my 3rd time at Astor Hyde Park and probably my last. Used to be a clean, fun hostel, but things seem to have nosedived in the past year. The whole place was dirty- the shower curtain was caked in mold. the breakfast is minimal- toast and some cereals- don't count on coffee. Wifi did not work past the first floor. Worst of all, though, was the staff who borderline ignored anyone who came to reception. When they did "help" they were rude and seemed to know nothing about London.

Great place to stay. All the staff were very helpful and awesome fun. Thanks to Lachlan for making sure I had an awesome time! Definitely the best place I've stayed in London (out of 4 hostels).

Good location and very nice hostel ! Make sure to cancel if you end up not coming or if someone from your group does else YOU WILL BE CHARGED for the bed even if they manage to "resell" that bed on the day!

I enjoyed my stay at the hostel, it was way better than in Astor Museum Inn, but there are still no lights at the beds (what makes it quite difficult not to wake everyone up when one comes back late in the evening) and the shower curtains were really really mouldy, as well as the shower itself. The rest was clean, the house is nice, I just missed some drinks at the breakfast (like tea, there was only the milk for the cereal).

There was really loud music, so loud that we couldn´t even stand to be in the dining area without feeling like we were at a concert hall. I heard people complaining of others stealing their food. Out of 3 nights that I stayed there,I didn´t even have hot water 2 of them. The internet costs half a pound for 15 minutes and was frozen a good 10 minutes. The bathroom was also a little gross. If you can find a better place, go somewhere else.

On my arrival night there was a party in the kitchen, I couldn´t eat anything because everything on the kitchen was dirty, the music was so loud that we had to leave because it was unbearable. The bathroom was full of hair, and quite dirty. I think you should pay more attention on the cleanliness.

The Astor Hyde Park is an excellent place to spend your time in London. Located near a bus stop that can take you to all of the major tourist attractions and a 10 minute walk from the Gloucester Road tube station, this hostel is full of life and friendly staff. Our things felt secure (even with a particularly creepy roommate), there was a strong wifi connection (only available in the common areas) and the breakfast was standard European. Would stay here again.

Convenient location (10 min walk to tube station) with quiet and peaceful surroundings. Kitchen was always dark and dirty. Very few choices on breakfast. Wi-fi is only available in some public area (i.e. lobby, kitchen, etc.). Rooms adjacent to the main street got quite noisy. Won't come back again or recommend to friends.

The location was about 10 minutes from the tube station, but a really close ride to everything that is essential to do and see in London. The beds were clean, but the bathrooms would get a bit musty after being damp all day. It was great having a kitchen, though frustrating because most of the staff had an outrageous dance party there every night and it was hard to tolerate the volume of the music and dancing while trying to cook and eat.

While the staff was nice and helpful, everything was run like professionalism didn't matter. My first night a girl was smoking in the hallway, there were other peoples hairs on my sheets and pillow case, my luggage was searched and my kindle stolen. People were blasting music downstairs till all hours. My second day, my sweatshirt - with a lot of sentimental value - was stolen. I suggest putting cctv in the luggage rooms and taking more control over the behaviour of visitors.
