The staff were execellent and very friendly and the beds and bedding were ver comfortable aswell. I like that its situated within walking distance to central London and easy underground access aswell. The only thing I would criticize is the showers needing more ventalation

Astor museum inn was a lot better experience than Hyde park inn where I previously stayed in. Hostels location makes a huge plus, it's very central. Right next to British museum and a five minute walk away from Oxford street. Safe neighborhood as well. The beds were clean and soft, toilets and shower were quite good. Very well organized place and nice laid back staff!

Room and bathroom were filthy. Drafty window, cold weather and a broken heater meant we were trying to sleep in a room that was approximately 8-10 degrees. One blanket is given, we were told we couldn't have an extra and there are signs everywhere saying not to use your own. Breakfast was minimal- toast, cereal, etc. Location was very good but we could have done much better for a comparable price as we had a twin private room. We had reservations to stay again but cancelled.

Great location, 5 mins fro Holborn tube The place is very much a youth hostel, but them it does state only 18-35 year olds and really its aimed at the younger of that spectrum. I only stayed one night and wasnt really there much, only to sleep. there is a kitchen downstiars with cooking facilities but VERY loud pop music, great for younger ones and there seemed to be a party going on at night, punch, drinking games etc. I am abit old for that sort of thing but it does what it says on the tin.

Great Location, a little expensive but worth the price. Wasn't impressed with the shower and it could have used more outlets, but that's my only complaint. They have a a luggage storage room so you can lock your stuff up during the day, they also have food available 24/7 in the kitchen. Beds are about as comfy as they come in Hostels, and the front desk was nice and helpful.

I've stayed in Astor Museum in May 2012 and now March 2013. The hostel has changed quite a lot for good. The kitchen is all new, you have wi-fi for free and well, the location is great (walking distance to the many places). Next time I'll go back to London, I will stay once again in Astor Museum!. PS. Lot of all the staff for 2012 has left, but there's a new Spanish lady who was really helpful!

Although this hostel is convenienly located, close to busses and underground stations, I would not stay at it again. The staff was friendly, though hungover and goofy, but the hostel was very dirty, and the condition of the rooms and beds were poor. For instance: just one electric socket to share between four people, no bed lamps, and a dirty carpet, I would never set foot one without shoes. The breakfast was free, and that for a reason. How do hostels in London get away with such bad service?

The staff were great, really made you feel at home. Relaxed atmosphere and good facilities, this is definitely the place to go if you're young and travelling

The staff was unhelpful and dismissive. It was difficult to lug my bag up and down and up and down those narrow staircases (storage is in the basement, some of the rooms are several stories up). The rooms were stuffy and too small--actually staying in the largest-size room might be more comfortable than a mid-size room. But it wasn't all bad. The price is right and the location (like everyone mentions) is AMAZING and right where you want to be in London. Free tea, good internet.

The staff really was amazing! Carolina was so nice, she helped us out a lot. The free breakfast saved us a lot. They had a lot of information when we asked. If I come back to London anytime in my youth, I will definitely stay here again. Cheers guys! :]

Lot of noise from other residents. A little bit is normal but peopke talking loudly in front of others' chambers for few hours aren't.

Nice enough, very clean. One complaint is that hostelworld overcharged us £9 according to their computers, what I had in an email reciept said £81 and they charged £90+already paid deposit and the woman at the desk said it was a HW error, I'd never come across something like this before with HW. We were only staying for a night out and it was perfect for getting a cab from Soho. There is only 1 toilet you have to walk down 3-4 flights of stairs to access, not good for the lazy or hungover.

I didn't expect to have such a great time. When I arrived, I didn't know anyone and yet everyone made me feel comfortable. I came on my own and at no time I felt alone. The staff was really nice and welcoming. Moreover, the fact that there is no curfew made me feel like it wasn't a hostel but more like if we were all roommates. I really appreciated this atmosphere between all of us even though we don't know everyone. I've spent a wonderful stay and I'll come back next year.

The location cannot be better. It is directly opposite to the British Museum. Even though it was winter, the rooms were warm because of the heating. Unfortunately there is no heating in the toiletand the shower.

The age limit is actually 34, not 35 as it says on the website. That means you can be 34, but 35 is not allowed. The hostel is right across from the British Museum, with cycle rentals right across the street. The kitchen is well equipped and the staff are friendly and helpful. Thank you!

AWESOME! :) It was one of the best hostel I have been!!!!! The room was clean and big, the bed was comfortable, bathroom was clean but a bit small, kitchen was clean and the breakfast was really good for an hostel! (Nutella included). Anyway the best thing was the staff!!!!!!!!!!! Friendly, Funny, Useful (clubbing, sightseeing, museum), Available, Different languages spoken (English, Spanish, French),Party People, Beautiful People, Honest, etc. etc. So all of them were great!
