It was a bit of a pain being in another building as I missed breakfast by a couple of minutes (the kitchen seems to close just before 10) but otherwise fine - it's one of the nicest hostels in London, just a bit dusty in places (I saw they had an advert for a cleaner). I'll stay here again if I'm in the vicinity.

Having no free wifi is a joke now days. Give it a fresh coat of paint to cover the smell, clean the citchen table occasionaly, and having a "sitting" area the size of a shoe box is not really necessary or acceptable.

I had a nice stay at the Astor Museum Inn. The staff are all very nice, the location is super. I slept in the other building, did thought it was very noisy there, but yes you cannot prevent that from happening.

The room was very dirty (nail clippings, used feminine hygiene products, paper shreds, weird stains on the wall, dirty curtains, ...). One wall was only made from chipboard and another rooms door opened against it, so it was very loud. The "cleaner" who did nothing but empty the litter (still all the litter on the floor) left our door open!! Our room was in a house a few blocks away, nobody told us before. Also the loo was dirty and you couldn't lock it. Won't recommend it to my worst enemy!

Good: Friendly staff and perfect location. Bad: I lost my sweater just inside the mixed-dorm. When I move to double room with frd, the second location is kinda scary.

The hostel's location is excellent but the place was quite run down when we were staying there in late 2011. The cleanliness was definitely not up to the standard we would expect from one of London's best hostels. Also, the twin rooms were in a rather bad state and would need an urgent refurbishement.

An excellent place to stay - very central location, reasonable prices, helpful staff, fully equipped kitchen at your service and it's not too big, not too many people. If the internet was free and working properly, it would immediately become my most favourite hostel.

Superb location. The hostel lacks any hang-out space; the only such space might be the kitchen/dining room but it is dominated by the staff members who have around-the-clock raging parties. Though they are very friendly and cool at the front desk, most members of these staff parties are cliquey and not welcoming to guests. This tends to scare most guests off to their rooms, so you don't meet fellow travelers. The breakfast couldn't be more awful.

I've stayed in a few Hostels before, but the Astor Hostels team is certainly the greatest I've ever met. The room was clean and tidy, and most of all it was very quite during the night which allowed a very good night sleep :D The location is great, so close to the British Museum and only 10 min walk to Soho was definetely a great advantage. The breakfast was always nicely catered, whatelse do you want. For me it's an absolute 10/10!

Well, overall experience is positive, staff was very friendly and professional, the location was excellent (just besides the british museum). The problem was apartment itself - first of all it was cold, that small heater and enormously huge and old window made me sleep in clothes - around 17 degrees there, and the street itself where the apartment was.. just dodgy. Everything else fine...

The 4beds dormitory is a joke!!Very dirty room !Locker is a kind of cage under the bed!Totally unsafe and u need a long neck cadenas to close it!Rare to use these in hostels but of course they sell it at the reception!U can hear everything from others rooms, walls are made in paper.Book there for 7nights then i ask for refund the next and they kindly do it!Staff was nice!In front of british museum. Can be ok for a week end!

I really enjoyed this hostel. The staff were all really nice and helpful, and we had a great time partying with them at night. I found the place to be very clean, and the location cannot be beaten. Great place... I would stay here again. Enjoy!

I was staying there for 2 Nights, it was okay, the Prices for the Electriciti Plug to Europ Standart was to expensive (5 Pound). The Staff was okay, not the best one and not the worst one. All in all the Location is very good. You are in the Middle of London and the next Pubs are round the Corner.

really nice stuff and very good located to reach the whole citiy wthin minutes. But you hear every step of your neighbours upstairs and next to you, which can be really annoying if you want to sleep. toilets and showers are cleaned every day but are very old and and a bit moulded. private roomes are tiny and pricy. but I guess thats London. Would'nt go there a second time as its just not recreative after a hard day in the city.
