My partner and I spent just one night.I was a bit nervous to stay in a hostel in London (last time was awful) but I can suggest it at all. Bed sheet were not stinky! Great!

The hostel is located in a great area, nice stuff. Only the sanitary facilities are not the best - not enough space, no separate washbasins. And there were not enough towels to rent, so my friend could not take a shower the hole day.

I booked the Astor 2 weeks previous to my stay. You sent me confirmation and general info on line. What you failed to inform me,was that there was an age discrimination policy. I turned up and was forced to look elsewhere.I,d travelled 200 miles for this o/n stay and was unlikely to get accomm in such short notice.Luckily the rule was bent and I stayed.I did feel old though(55 years) !!! Thank you!!

I met a friendly person at the reception (not the staff) and I think it was owing to the atmosphere the hostel has.

Good beds and proper pillows and blankets. Good size lockers under the beds which you can lock with a padlock, thanks for those! Clean toilets and showers, enough warm water and good pressure! Basic breakfast which you can top up with some fruits and juices from a supermarket close by. Only minus and disappointment are the number of electricity sockets in the room. 2 per 8 people is just not enough with laptops, cameras and smartphones around. Makes life a bit difficult!

Pretty good place to stay. Good location, staff was nice but not outgoingly helpful (i.e. not offering up info w/o being asked -like not saying "here's the key to get into the luggage storage room" after asking about storing luggage), showers were hot but barely a drizzle, included breakfast was great (just cereal, bread, PB, etc. but LOTS of it), WiFi always worked (amazing!), TONS of stairs if you're on the 4th floor! I would check out other places too, but this is not a bad choice overall!!

I absolutely Love this place! The staff are amazingly friendly and helpful! They keep everything really clean and well kept! The beds where pretty comfy and the showers where clean! When I come back to London I won't even look for another hostel I'll only come here! I loved the staff and the relaxed and friendly atmosphere!
