I booked into Asylum for 3 days but ended up staying for 2 weeks. Fun hostel, nice crowd, management is very helpful and friendly. Great location.

The staff are very friendly and welcoming and have gone out of their way more than once to assist me. The location of the hostel is good but the facilities that the hostel provides are very poor. There are no lockers. The kitchen is grossly inadequate and a dinning area is no existent. This makes preparing dinner and enjoying it in the hostel almost impossible. The small common room is seldom cleaned and people are allowed to smoke throughout the establishment. I can't recommend this hostel!

This is a lively hostel within walking distance to the centre, we enjoyed our stay. Our only issue was that there are no security lockers and we heard rumours of theft.

Asylum is certainly different from all of the other hostels i've ever stayed in, but thats what i love about the place, its got a lot of character. The staff were very helpful and they actually remembered my name which most hostel staff dont! The bathrooms live up to their name too which i was surprised at, they are checked every hour so they are spotless!

staff were very helpful but disorganised and didnt know about surrounding area etc. we asked 3 very common questions (car parking, bike rental, good place to eat) and the staff member couldnt answer us. we tried to attend the mad monday pub crawl, which sounded like excellent value, but noone else bought tickets and rather than telling is this (they knew which room we were in) the organiser just didnt show up! we got our money back but were v dissappointed. lots of unfriendly long stay guests
