The hostel owner is extremely welcoming: As there were in Winter not so many other guests, he "upgraded" us from dormitory to a private room for the same price. We could also use a nicely styled meeting room with fireplace and view of the garden, which was very pleasant for the evenings. A fully equipped kitchen is available as well. We really felt there like warmly welcomed guests and not like paying tourists.

Athena pension is a lovely, quiet place to stay and right in the centre of Bergama so only 10 minutes walk to the chair lift that brings you to the acropolis. Our room was nice and clean. The owners were charming and treated us to a delicious breakfast. This was the nicest place we stayed while in Turkey, I would recommend it 100%.
