Best thing about this hostel was its proximity to the Acropolis & museum. Wifi signal was not always consistent, but staff was extremely helpful.
Kitchen, breakfast, wifi, beds, bathrooms all great. HANDSOAP available! Thank you AB for that. The location is perfect. You can walk to all the archEological sites from here or catch the metro literally around the corner. Efroseenee on the roof top bar was hospitable and friendly. And she shared a lot of cool Greek facts! The view from the roof is incredible, the acropolis! Free ouzo shot on the roof! Stay here!! Thank you AB!!
This is a great place to stay in Athens. You can see the acropolis and pantheon from rooftop bar which also has good drink prices and awesome tunes and atmosphere. I would recommend this hostel
6 euro tour was awesome. Enjoyed everything about this place.
Good hostels and location but it's rather annoying to specifically book Athen's Backpackers location and get sent to the other.
Stayed here three times, first time was great, second time I got "upgraded" to a dorm with more people as it was an apartment. It was fine just not what I booked. Still great place to meet other people. Convenient location. Breakfast was great.
This hostel served its purpose as we were just passing through. Location was great as it was a five minute walk to the acropolis and other major attractions. Near some good cheap restaurants. Staff was friendly and helpful. The room was hot and with air conditioner on it sounded like a jackhammer. Beds were very uncomfortable and squeaky so if anyone moved everyone could hear it. Rooftop bar had a nice view.
The large size of this hostel gives it a very commercial, almost corporate, feel to it. It's an efficiently run business, located along the canal, close to numerous subway stations. It's clean and provides an excellent breakfast. If you are looking for a quiet stay, look elsewhere - this is a party hostel. Likewise, it isn't one of those cosy 10-20 people hostels where you can't help but meet people: this hostel is huge and impersonal. That said, it was a fresh change and I would stay again.'
Great location, rooftop bar, nice rooms, helpful staff, and discounts at the affiliated bar/cafe. Definitely recommend this place.
Really good place to stay highly recommend it
The room was nothing like what is shown on hostelworld. Furniture haphazardly placed around the room, half a cabinet, broken wardrobe. We though, 'heck let's splurge a bit for this great private room'....what a WASTE of money. We accidentally left a bag behind and when we contacted the hostel not only were they very slow to respond but they advised, 'they hadn't found a bag'. ! TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE. The Romanian guy was GREAT though.
Stayed 3 nights at Athens Backpackers. The location of the hostel is good and it is easy to get there. Rooms are basic but do their job and provide lockers, beds are a bit squeaky. Bathrooms could be newer but are generally clean like all of the hostel. But best of the all is definitely the rooftop bar with a great view at the Akropolis. In the evening a lot of people hang around there and it is easy to meet up with other travelers and having a good time together.
I enjoyed staying at the hostel (only stayed for a night). It was a little loud due to other people but not the Hostel's fault. The room was spacious, plugs were not close to the beds. Bathroom was clean. AC required a remote. They had a rooftop bar, where most people went. If you like a more casual area, the common room was good for that - but it was empty.
Everything you could need in one little block: a comfy bed, a good bar, nice cheap restaurant and a laundromat. There's a great atmosphere between this hostel and it sister hostel a few blocks away. Everyone meets up on the rooftop bar for drinks and heads out for dinner together. Really great community.
We stayed in the apartment building not in backpackers. Great location near main sites easy walk around city. Did 3 hour walking tour from the sports bar next door was excellent. Apartment lovely with a balcony and small kitchen. Only negative was bathroom floor gets very wet when showering. They have sqeezie mop to move water to drain. Not cheap at E 80 a night and the breakfast next door at fish and chip shop was very well ordinary, poor selections very basic
Air con was temperamental. Wifi was amazing!! Great staff. Included breakfast was not that great.
Within walking distance from all the sights. We didn't go out in Athens so couldn't comment on distance from nightlife.
I stayed one night at the Athen's backpackers in a 4 bed dorm. The hostel is very clean, including the toilets and beds. In the evening they have happy hour at the roof top terrace with a great view to the acropolis. I met a bunch of fellow travelers up there and there was great atmosphere. At 11 we moved to the Athen's Studios pub (check which room you are booking, you might get a bed at the Studios instead of backpackers). Late at night went to my room to sleep, and it was quiet.
