Really nice place to stay, cannot rave enough about the staff. The English lady was very helpful and friendly, Only down side was that the area was a little quiet (but just a short taxi ride to the busy beach). Very good place to stay if you are looking for some down time and the restaurant under the dorm is a great place for some comfort food.

Dear Mr Wanner, Thank you for your review on staying at the Auberge Dormitory Backpacker room. Whilst i appreciate your comments, i would like to bring to to you attention that in the information (description) on the backpacker room it clearly states that this is a fan room only. We do have accommodation available which is air conditioned, but this is at a higher price. I feel that the map gives a good indication as to the exact location of the Auberge Dormitory Backpacker Room, on the Laem Nan peninsular between Lamai and Chewang. Many people like to be 'in between' the two most popular tourist nightlife places. There are many local bars and restaurants adjacent to our Dormitory room itself. The Family Mart is situated 100 metres away, on the main road. Kind regards , Catherine.

The staff were pleasant but unhelpful. The towels weren't changed in 3 days. Nice if you want it quiet and simple.

Dear Stuart, Thank you for your feedback review after your stay at Auberge. I apologise if you found that the staff were unhelpful, i would have preferred this to have been brought to my attention at the time, in order that i could have dealt with it there and then. I have checked the housekeeping log, and it is unclear when your towels were changed, it states that the regular housekeeper had not been able to gain access to the room during her shift. It is our policy to change towels on a regular basis, and this is documented in the room information folder. I hope that Melissa and yourself enjoyed your time on Koa Tao, and the rest of your travels in Asia. Kind regards, Catherine

Absolutely loved staying here and would definitely recommend it to anyone. Catherine (the owner) and staff are fantastic and go out of their way to help you. The accommodation and facilities were spotless. We've been travelling Thailand for a month and this is by far the best place we've stayed. It's in a quiet area so it's really relaxing by day and night, but the shops/restaurants etc are only a 5 minute walk away. Lamai was the best place we stayed in Koh Samui. Excellent, thank you.

Catherine and the staff were great! If/when I return to Koh Samui, I will definitely be staying there again. Stayed 5 nights, wish we could have stayed longer!

Booking Auberge really made our last week in Thailand memorable. Roger and Catherine are a delight to be around going above and beyond anything I've experienced in Asian hospitality. The backpacker room is above the restaurant so it was lovely to sit and have a drink with them on our way upto the room at night. The room was spacious for a dorm and had a lovely balcony you could sit out on. I would definately come back.
