There were lots of insects in the hostel. Mainly ants. Probably as it is a wooden building.

I had a wonderful stay in the Woolshed. Staff are super friendly and helpful. I stayed in the double en-suite room and it was very comfortable. I loved the communal areas, really lovely kitchen/sitting room and great outdoor area with hammocks. Not a party hostel, but great for a chilled out, homely vibe. Easy walk to the seafront, and you can use the hostel across the road's shuttle service for the bus pickup/dropoff.

Really liked this place but both of us found it impossible to sleep in the dorm because it was just too hot. The fan did nothing and air con is really needed. Otherwise a great hostel with a chilled atmosphere and nice staff.

Thanks for your Feedback. The dorm you stayed in is called the budget dorm, it only costs $22 has no added extras and suits the traveller on a tight budget. We do offer a deluxe dorm for $25 which has an aircon option for an extra $5 per night, cost is split between the people in the room. Travellers are not aware that our power bill has gone up at least an extra $2000 per year. We could put the rates up for everyone to cover this but we choose to have a user pays system.

Good place to stay and starting point for fraser island; pick with from the bus tour in front of the house. Good kitchen, clean facilities, good internet connection (you have to pay for) and nice quiet dorms

I can't fault this place, everything was excellent and the staff went out of the way to accommodate a late check-in and organised tour for me. Lovely drop.

The staff here were great and it's 5 minutes from the beach and supermarkets. The garden area is cool and the kitchen is clean and well equipped! I would stay here again.

We came to the woolshed after a 3 day trip to Fraser Island. The atmosphere was really relaxed and homey which was a welcome change after a fun but tiring weekend. We also met the friendliest people at this hostel. The owners are lovely and take great care to make your stay comfortable. The kitchen common areas is cozy and well stocked. We also used the BBQ one evening in the garden area which was really fun! Would definitely recommend this place and stay there again!

Lovely place with wooden cabin dorms and a beautiful lounge area. Kitchen was a tad small and the rooms were SO hot. A 15-20 minute walk to Woolworths. The drop off to the Greyhound could've been scheduled a bit earlier for some busses as many travelled at once and they had to make several trips. Would definitely stay again!
