A very nice hostel. We only stopped the one night though so not much to say really. Very close to the beach and a few restaurants and bars. It is about a 30 min walk to the main shopping area though - you can get a shuttle to and from the hostel at set times.

One of the best and cleanest hostels on our journey. Not directly at the beach beach but not far away. Nice Staff, but they started cleaning of the common room at breakfast time... Will come again :-)

We had a double private/ensuite, which was nice. Coffe/Tee for free, huge TV/ kitchen facilities. Owners nice, A/C is extra $5 charge, room was clean, not far to woolwoth. You get free WiFi if you book a tour at the Hostel. Our friend stayed in a 3 girl dorm, which was very small. The first night one room was robbed because the girls did not lock their door- so watch out!

A nice hostel all in all, good setting and facilities. Quiet however so not a place to go if you wish to party. There were quite a few notices informing of a spate of break ins so that did not make me feel very secure. Staff were helpful and I got a lift to and from the bus station.

Excellent vibe in the hostel, and the decor was cool. Lovely seated garden area to chill and read a book. Common room was very spacious and never too crowded. Even left my camera and the owners posted it back to me; very nice people and an overall excellent hostel. Highly recommended!

10.30 is perhaps a little too early to close the common room. Air-con could also be installed. Other than that we had a very enjoyable stay.

Owner Comment (Show)
Kitchen/Common room is, and has always been open 24 hours. The lights are on a timer system with the last turning off around 11.30pm. Of our 13 rooms, Air-con is installed in 9 of them. Some of our "budget" rooms don't have them, but hence the term "budget". A simple request for air-con and we could have put them in a room with it...

I had a really nice stay at the Woolshed. The staff were always very helpful and welcoming. The hostel itself was clean and quiet. The only issue was the floor in the bathroom/ shower area which would get extremely slippery when wet and could do with a couple of mats or something to ensure that you don't go head over heels.

This was one of the prettiest hostels I've ever stayed in. It's really green, lots of plants, trees and flowers on the premises. There's also actual decoration around in the rooms and especially in the kitchen, which gives it a really homey kind of feeling, which is very nice. The people who run it are super nice too, and they live right behind the hostel, so they're always there if there's a problem. Unfortunately, there are also a few negatives. Some of the rooms don't have airconditioning, a

Nice hostel, friendly and clean, with a beautiful garden! the only drawback is that there are no lockers in the rooms, and that if you want to leave your backpacks while on tour at Fraser Island, you have to pay if you don't book your tour through them. Otherwise, very confortable rooms and friendly staff!

Warm and friendly welcome from staff. Double (ensuite) room was spacious, clean and tidy. Even had a TV & DVD player (DVDs and books available at reception). Large kitchen and common room, great facilities. Short walk to the Esplande, and staff able to recommend good eateries (The Black Dog - head to Esplande and turn right).

Quiet hostel for a quiet town. We're used to a bigger party, but it was nice to get some sleep before Fraser Island. The staff was very accommodating about our late-check in and helped us out with general information.
