The hotel has an EXCELLENT location. Very easy to reach by public transportion. It was very easy to go anywhere in Paris for the hotel and use the metro as it is within walking distance from the gare du nord, which has very good frequency of trains. My only comment is that they didn\'t have air conditioning or they didn\'t turn it on, so a couple of days our room was a little hot. For the rest I did enjoy staying there and think it is a very good choice and will stay again in the future.

This was a nice hotel with good facilities. Unfortunately the rooms were very hot and there were road works outside the hotel all night so you couldn't open the windows - not their fault, but the eating could be controlled. The breakfast was nice and the staff allowed people to eat until they were done, instead of kicking people out right at closing time like other places. Expensive, but that is the nature of Paris! Much better than the other hotel we stayed in in Monmartre.

Good location if you're travelling or want to see the city (close to train and metro stations). Would not recommend walking around alone at night, the neighbourhood is kinda dodgy. Staff were nice and helpful. Clean room, some noise from the street but otherwise good. Breakfast was excellent buffet. Must be one of the best hotels you can get in Paris for this kind of money.

Like: modern, color TV with a lots of chanels in several languages. Dislike: small toilet, dark room on the top, small restaurant with little choice for breakfast.

We visited Paris from America for the first time and upon arrival to the hotel the concierge was very rude to us. He did little to help us understand the city or enjoy our stay at the hotel. The continental breakfast was hardly anything and added an extra 10 Euro to the price. There was a pair of dirty women's underwear shoved behind the radiator in our room, which absolutley disgusted me. We could tell that the room was poorley cared for and any staff that we encountered was rude. Never again.

For 80€ not bad. I alway get a single room whenever I travel. The location is 5-10 min walk from both main train stations. The staff gave me a free map of Pairs. Showed me all the places I wanted to go. You better know how to read a map and use the subway. Or have someone with you that can. The only bad thing I can say is that you hear everything going on in the next rooms. So if you don't like this go to another place. Breakfast is super simple typical european meal. Don't expect more for 80€.

It wasn't how they have put in the picture. I know that the hostel manager use Photoshop for picture when they advertise the hostel but the Avalon has use too much. So, please be more realistic when you put the picture and then the people should decide for the hotel. Also, the staff it wasn't professional. I have ask for some question and they didn't help at all.

We only stayed one night, but it did the job. Nice location, very close to Gare du Nord. We had a double room, it was one of the larger double rooms we have stayed in in Paris. As for atmosphere, the bedroom was kind of dingy but the room itself was clean. Considering we were only looking for a place to sleep for one night, it seemed fairly expensive for what we needed, but it is Paris after all.

A basic hotel, but very well run. Rooms cleaned and new towels every day, breakfast was a fair bit better than similar places I have stayed in. Great location - only a minute or two from Gare du Nord for getting to and from the airport but also for accessing the metro. Overall, a very pleasant stay.

We only stayed for one night as we were leaving on Eurostar from Gare du Nord the next morning, but it was a nice night's stay. They had free wifi, computer that you could print from for free, beds were comfortable, rooms were warm and quiet, bathroom was clean and also free breakfast from 7-10am. There is a lift as well. Nice and close to Gare du Nord - but maybe ask for directions to the actual train station, it's different from the metro stop!

A lovely Hotel situated within walking distance of the Gare Du Nord, and thus easy to access Paris via the Metro. The staff were helpful and friendly and there was no issue with changing our room from a double booking to a triple booking, only 2 days before we were due to arrive. The street outside could get a little noisey, but our stay was over a weekend and it wasn't particualry bad, as it only disturbed one person in the room. Would recommended this hotel and definitely stay again!

Its great that they have a laptop with a printer, may come in handy. One of the girls from the staff was very rude, the blonde with curly hair, i watched how she got mad when a woman asked for a towel, and didn't make any effort to hide it, and i asked her to change my control remote because it wasn't working, never happened.

Small & compact room, needs a bit of TLC but wasn't too bad as I spent most of my time in museums. Lovely old spiral staircase. Old antique lifts are a bit of a pain, only one person at a time. Otherwise lovely and clean.

A very comforatable hotel. Located near the train station which is very convenient if you're coming in from the airport or on an international train. You must use public transportation to get to the sites for sure but it's worth it for the price and convenience of being near the station. Our room was comfortable and quiet, bathroom quite nice.
