In a rough part of town, not too far away from temple bar. Security wasnt too bad, there was a place to lock up bags. The staff weren't helpful at all when trying to book tours or ask advice on what to do. The big kitchen area was definitely a plus, however the place didnt appear to be very clean. There were a number of strange people staying in the hostel, almost like a halfway house rather than a hostel. Would not stay here again, there are numerous places that are better in Dublin

Haven't got back the fare of the bus ticket, though promised at the description. Noisy at night. Breakfast was very poor. Would't recommend that place.

Loved my stay at Avalon House last week. What a great location, friendly staff, and awesome atmosphere. I love that The Bald Barista cafe is attached. What a fun place to hang out and have some excellent coffee! I'm recommending you guys to all my friends that stay in Dublin! Hope to see you again!

The chambers were very tiny. The breakfast was very very poor !!! The fact of selling a premium brekfast for money after the (very very poor) usual brakfast was dreist, unverschaemt (do not know a fitting english word). That did anger me very much. This is "Touristenabzocke" (do not know the english word, too). Toby

This was my first stay at a Hostel and in general, it was a good value for the money. The staff was friendly and helpful, the room was clean with the bare essentials. The bed was uncomfortable and squeaked but ok. Was afraid there would be no hot water in the shower due to previous reviews I read but actually had a warm shower...not hot but at least warm. Towels were provided and was able to borrow a hair dryer..no cost. Loved the coffee shop attached complete with little fireplace.

I have stayed here before and was happy to find that the facilites are as good as usual. I booked a private room and it was clean and quiet, with a nice en suite bathroom. The breakfast was basic but good. I liked that there was wifi available. I highly recommend this hostel and would stay here again when next in Dublin. My only suggestion is that they ask smokers not to block the entrance to the hostel as this is very unpleasant to pass through.

Some nights it's noisy and you can't sleep. The facilities are too old and uncomfortable. There is very little space in some rooms and some bathrooms are in poor condition. The breakfast isn't worth it. On the website they offer free transportation from the airport and that's a lie. If you want to stay several nights and meeting people is fine, but if you go to visit the city by day and just need a place to sleep and rest, look for another hostel that offers more comfort for about the same price

The staff were great and very accommodating. The only drawback was the heat at night. The weather in Dublin was quite chilly to begin with and the rooms (I stayed in two different rooms over my trip) weren't very warm...that and the internet didn't seem to stretch well to the rooms But overall I really enjoyed it there!

Super hostel, but I didn't like the fact that there isn't a locker in the room, so when I go out, or you leave your stuff on the room (betting to have honest hostel room mates) or you take your bag to the lockers near the reception. Despite that, everything was really nice. The staff is really kind.

I stayed in the 4th floor. Looked and smelled quite freshly renovated. I just needed a place to sleep. Sleeping was a bit hard on a Friday night. The walls are thick, but the doors are very permable by noise. The linen were very fresh and clean. Showers and toilets are ok. Location is good. I think the place is perfect for young people, that want to go out. Meeting like-minded backpackers might be easy, I don\'t know. Staff was helpful. I found the prize a bit too high.

OFFERED ALL the necessary amenities. Was annoyed that could not get a hot shower, showers constantly turning off made it hard to even get a warm shower. Also, some computers were not working and they were not fixed so lines were a little longer to get a computer. Cold at night, for some reason the heat was on during the day. Felt like I was living out of my security locker. Also did not like the fact that the Kitchen was locked close at 1030 and without access to microwave could not make TEA!

The kitchen was dirty and just didn´t want to eat there. Furthermore it was to small for the number of guest especially if a schoolclass is staying in the hostel. The rooms where ok and clean but a bit tiny. The lounge was to small for the number of guests and so you have to be fast getting a place if you want to use wifi. The same problems with breakfast... But the hostel is located really in the city centre so you can visit nearly everything by walking.
