A great place to stay in Dublin if you are looking for a cheap and cheerful place to stay. Some of the other people there block the toilets etc, but that isn't really the staff's fault.

Avalon House was a great experience! It's in a great location (10 minute walk from the Temple Bar area), the staff were nice and helpful, and the rooms were clean. The beds were not very comfortable, and the showers were a little scary, especially because I forgot my shower shoes, but other than that, it was a great hostel.

Probably one of the best hostels on the south side of Dublin (postcodes even numbers eg, D2, 4 etc) Friends and I always try booking here first when visiting Dublin for a night out. Close to Stephens Green, Harcourt St discos and 10 min walk to Temple Bar.

I had a great time at the Avalon House. My only suggestions for improvements would be to include a bit more into the "free breakfast." I don't think toast and cereal is enough to advertise a free breakfast. And the heater in my room (300) didn't work properly.

Have been staying there for nearly a week. Nice clean Room. Friendly Staff. Free Breakfast. Self catering Kitchen. Free WiFi. Awesome located. Nothing to complain about.

This was a nice hostel but the rooms were VERY small. Also the shower never really got hot and the light in our bathroom was burnt out for my entire four night stay. Also the WiFi connectivity was very bad. It didn't reach any of the rooms so you had to be in the lobby/lounge area where there were only about 8 seats available which filled up quickly. The WiFi also failed completely one day. Otherwise this was not a bad place for the money.

I was alone in Dubline for one night, I met a lot of other young people in a lovely and confortable place.

We only spent one night. The beds were comfy but couldn't get hot water early in the morning. Good location - right at bus 16 stop.

Tell customers whatever they are expected to find. Extremely small rooms without bathroom ( terrible common bathrooms) and no toilets functioning on the same level.

The hostel smelled terrible and it was dirty. It smelled like someone had never taken out the trash. The room for four guests is way too small. I would not take a shower there because the bathrooms were too dirty.

All of us thought it is a nice hostel. It is actually my second stay there, I recommended it to my friends. However this time it was even noisier than last time. Especially one night where there was someone in the common room playing the guitar until well past 4 am which I think is well past the time when of the hostel employees should have shut that guy up. Let's just say it made for an uneasy night. Another thing I would love is for the breakfast to include proper coffee, not the instant one.

I thought this was a very clean and safe hostel. The staff was helpful and nice. I just thought that it didn't have that vibe that drives you into meeting new people, since most of the guests I saw were concentrated on their laptops or on the computers the hostel offers. But it is a good value for money.

The single hostel smelled like a senior living home. I imagine its been trashed over the years but its still pretty brutal to deal with for a couple nights.

One of my favorite hostels that I've stayed at in four months! The house has a great ambience and attracts many locals, which is a treat for travelers trying to have a more authentic experience. Great facilities, especially cute cafe/restaurant. Also in a fantastic location. I definitely recommend Avalon to any traveler in Dublin!
