Breakfast was lovely and the staff were very friendly but it was a little too hot to be going without airconditioning

Overall we enjoyed the hostel. Very clean and well maintained. Breakfast was good and the staff attentive and helpful. We were in one of the upstairs rooms with 3 beds; our only complaint was the lack of ventilation. Our room had one floor fan and it was not enough to hit all 3 beds; another fan or ceiling fan would have been nice since it was very stuffy. Also, a couple of hooks on the wall to hang things would have been nice.

Staff were friendly and helpful. The breakfast was good, fresh fruit with toast/pancakes and eggs. It is situated right on the beach, so you have the constant rageing of the waves. No other hotels around. Tortuguero is a small remote town.

A most excellent property and superb Costa Rican experience! We had a fantastic stay at this quaint yet well appointed hostel. Every comfort was provided for by our gracious host - Calixto and his staff. This is one of the few properties in Tortuguero that is right on the ocean and just down the path from the National Park. The rooms were clean and comfortable, the food was excellent and the vibe was true pura vida! Go for it.

Calixo who runs the place is an easy going great guy. Only the bungalow has a view of the beach and was a real gem. The hamocks are a real treat and the security ( fenced with night guards) was really appreciated. It was the best place we stayed in during our three week holiday. It was the closest thing to a paradise and truely excellent value If the premium room is available TAKE IT -that is the only BUNGALOW.

Nice and friendly staff. Located right in front of the beach and you can easily walk inside the park. The best, the hammocks they have outside to relax.

Very simpel, very clean, very nice people! The problem: December is the rainiest month of the year in Tortuguero, which means 50 hours rain (rainstorm) during my 96 hours stay.
