Good location on the edge of central Miraflores (5 minutes walk to the action) so you can escape the noise. A quite place and you may not met many other travellers, but it is a great place to recharge and they'll help you bargain with the taxi drivers also:)

Truly my best travel experience ever! I have stayed in 5 star hotels that provided less assistance than Angelo, at the hostel. If you are ever in Peru, I highly recommend staying here!

Perfect location in Lima and the owner (Angelo) is overly helpful and kind. We enjoyed our stay there, the only recommendation is to keep the option to use hot water available......the water felt cool when showering. Aside from that, I will gladly stay here again.

I have rated this place low because after my 30 hour bus trip from Bolivia and looking forward to this place that I hand picked! I arrive relived tired and ready for bed...only to hear he over booked and booked me else where. The fact that he sent me a conformation email meant nothing he knew upon sending that email he was over booked and took it upon himself to choose my bed for the night for the same price but with no en-suite...and after 2 months of shared bathrooms, I was not amused! gutted.

We enjoyed our stay, Angelo was very helpful with all our questions. He directed us to good restaurants that gave good value. He explained the best way to get around, which was by taxi, what to expoect to pay and how to negotiate with the taxi drivers.

We had a great stay at Hostal Tradiciones and Angelo was practically a tour guide! He told us all of the relevant stories and a great map! He really takes care of his guests and we are glad we have been to the best restaruant in Miraflores to have the Ceviche he recommended. We spent new year 2013 there and looking forward to come back again! very safe location.

I literally enjoyed staying at the hostel!!!! Good location, friendliness, good breakfast, good service and so on! Perfect except a bit high price. Well its not a big deal considering how the hostels in the United States charge much higher prices but often end up providing much lower services!

I've never met a nicer hotel owner, Angelo really went above and beyond. Not only did he help me endlessly with where to go, maps, etc, he made multiple calls for me to airlines and helped me fix all my travel issues and even book hotels in other areas. To top it off I had an allergic reaction to something and he went to the pharmacy in the middle of the night to get me an antihistamine. I've never experienced such genuine help from a stranger an with a smile the whole time. Highly recommend!

This was a kind of strange hostel -I think it serves as a hostel and a family home too. There's no signage to indicate that you've arrived, so just beware. Nice staff, good wifi, really nice breakfast which we enjoyed in our room, and good location. One downfall is the shower - I think they use an emersion system, so you have to compete with all the other guests for the hot water. Mine was lukewarm at best. But when we commented on it, the owner put the water on especially for us and it was hot.

This place is not quite as advertised. No cooking facilities. No common areas. It is basically a couple of rooms in a large family home. Nice people, just not what we expected it to be.

No wifi, so had to cut the stay short. This has probably been fixed now. Very friendly and helpful owner.

The personal help from Angelo as absolutely fantastic and we felt at home returning to the hostel after 10 days elsewhere in Peru. My only advice would be to update the rooms a bit. The carpets and upholstery are old and give the rooms a musty smell that could do with a freshening up. Otherwise, I can't fault the hostel.
