This will forever be my home in Bangkok. If you want the Koh San Road party scene and people, look elsewhere. If you want a great calm atmosphere in a quiet quarter of otherwise hectic Bangkok, where you can still hear tropical birds and other creatures singing, yet still EASILY access the rest of the city by a very short walk (through an authentic neighborhood) - you've found Baan Sathorn Backpacker. Thank you Fabian and Jai! - Jay

Very good place and great value for money. Staff very helpful when needed and place has lovely atmosphere with great facilities. Nice tocuh that it is in local neighbourhood so you can see real Thai life and are right beside shops. BTS station not far and easy to get to main sights from there. Bed a bit hard but no issue as slept very well every night - great that they provided a fan. Only minor issue was light switch in my room at far end away from door but didn't cause any problems. Go for it!

A very clean and modern hostel. It's very close to all the main transport links 5-10 minutes or so to the sky rail and ferry terminal. The rooms and bathrooms are impeccably clean and comfortable, and the staff are friendly and helpful.

Great hostel but a bit far out of the way although close to a sky rail station and pier so it's easy to get around. Nothing locks. The dorm rooms don't lock and neither does the front gate so anyone can walk in at anytime and no one would notice as the staff aren't always around. There are lockers but they're only small and away from the rooms, this also made me on edge because I was worried I'd forget the things that I had put in there. It's also not easy to find.

The backyard is really big so it makes the stay so much nicer. They have nice chilling areas, the bathrooms are big and clean. The area in which the hostel is situated is full of small street restaurants which serve cheap and good local food. It is a bit far from the centre, but apart from that, it does offer a really comfortable stay.

My new home away from home! Thanks for the hospitality "Jah" and "Toi!" (apologies for spelling your name wrong)

I really enjoyed my stay at this hostel, however there are a few areas that could be improved. The lockers should be in the dorms for convenience, a cooked breakfast, while very tasty, should be just one option....eg facilities for us to make our own. The main improvement: someone should always be there to help and advise customers....often I needed help and no-one was available, only a phone no, but my phone wasn't working. However, I really did enjoy this hostel ..just a few irritants....

Far from things but if you want a quiet authentic Bangkok neighborhood stay, Baan Sathorn is for you. Friendly but quiet atmosphere.

Excellent facilities and atmosphere. Nice rooms with air conditioning, hot showers, wifi works well in common areas. Ja and Fabian are amazing! Super helpful and always friendly. Great common area makes it easy to meet other travelers, all of whom have been fantastic. Walking distance from public transportation (sky train, which connects to both the metro and the ferry). I've stayed here three times and recommend this place 100%!

Staff are lovely and i recommend it to any one. It is a little way out of the main parties but its only a 200 BHT taxi ride away! one of the best i have stayed in!

The hostel has a great, peaceful courtyard to take a break from the big city. Yet it is only a ten minute boat trip from the centre of Bangkok. The staff there are excellent and very helpful. There is a great atmosphere for meeting people. I highly recommend staying here!

I was very pleased with this hostel. The staff were great, the rooms are simple, but clean and comfortable. Its a bit of a ways away from things, but its an easy walk to the train and the ferry. I greatly enjoyed my stay.

Fabian and the rest of the staff are very helpful, the hostel is shiny clean and it's a nice place to relax from chaotic Bangkok. Keep up the good work!

Very nice place, owners are very helpful. It's a good hostel if you want to meet other travellers, and has a nice friendly atmosphere going on. Is close to skytrain but a little off of the busy main road in a little local area. Lots of little (cheap) food places nearby but also convenient for the city, Patpong and all that. Directions from airport were good, but handy to have sat-nav if you try to find it on your own. Definitely recommend it

Positive: A great place to socialize with other travellers. Negative: Very hard beds. Wifi only works near reception.

Really helpful and friendly staff will help you figure out bus/train tickets, planning for other parts of your trip to Thailand, and recommendations for what to do in Bangkok. 10 minute walk from public transport makes getting around the city easy. Nice communal spaces, both indoors and outdoors, make it easy to meet other travelers. I would definitely recommend this hostel, and will be staying here again when I return to Bangkok.

One of th cleanest, cheapest, quietest and most laid back hostels I've ever stayed at...cannot recommend it more highly, Bangkok is insane and if khaosan road is not your thing, then stay here, a cab fare to khaosan is only 80b, but you're close to the rail system, so getting around elsewhere is cheap and easy...
