Great stay! Had a great time hanging around the place and talking with the owner. Nice guy!

It is a shame that there is no higher category than 'excellent' here because Baanrimtaling would qualify and then some. I arrived here very sick from Laos, ending up in hospital. From beginning to end the wonderful owners Maleewan and Don sorted everything out for me which included visiting me in hospital, bringing me food, fronting my hotel bill and a thousand other kindnesses which you might not expect from family, let alone complete strangers. Beautiful place, beautiful people.

Perfect place to stay the night before you cross into Laos. The owners are very friendly and helpful, they"re happy to tell you everything you need to know about Laos and crossing the border. Great views over the river too!

A really pretty place to stay, with stunning views. The owners are great hosts, the food is great and reasonably priced. The free lift to the Laos border is really helpful - would definately recommend.

Nice and helpful staff. Free bike rental. Really pretty view. A few bugs but nothing major. I really enjoyed this place.

Lovely little place, litterally 3 mins from where the bus drops you off from Chiang Mai. Lovely couple that run the place and really knowledgable too. I was undecided about the fast versus slow boat and they were really helpful at explaining all the options. I ended up taking the fast boat which was totally fine!! Total urban myth about dangerous speed boats. The only thing I would say is the bathroom in the dorm was a little dirty, looked like it hadn't been cleaned in a while.

I thought my bed was made of books however, the staff the food and the location made the rest of my stay here pleasurable. Perfect location for people wanting to take the slow boat to Laos

For 100b ($3.50) you can't go wrong. Nice folks that run the spot and English is spoken by the owners, however not the rest of the staff. The food at the restaurant is excellent and the portions are large. Wifi is good and you can't beat the view! Bathrooms looked like they hadn't been cleaned in ages, if ever, so that's no good but all things considered it's a great deal. I'd stay again for sure.

We had a wonderful stay. We were greeted at the bus station by the friendly owners and after a short 2-minute drive were checking into our double ensuite room. For 350 baht/night it was a great deal. The hostel had a lot of character - swiss family robinson style - and a patio restaurant with panoramic views of the river. We considered staying a day or two before crossing over to the slow boat!

It is quite far away from town center but the view and peaceful atmosphere make up for it. Location on Google map is totally wrong, there is a correct map on guesthouse webpage. Rooms are basic but very clean, owner speaks very good English, good food, beer and drinks available right there. Very beautiful sunset and sunrise over the river. In the morning they take people to the immigration for free. Good place to stop over before taking a boat to Luang Prabang.
