Good hostel with modern clean furniture.

Overall, this is a good hostel indeed. Location wise great. Cleanliness great. They are running it well. Only little thing I encountered for the sake of honesty, was after making my booking of a Private Room accommodation for only one night through hostelworld, and upon contacting them by phone ( Tanya from front desk ), to check for the availability of a second night. Tanya indicated that they Do NOT have any private rooms, even for the one night I had booked !!! which was NOT good surprise.

Good hostel in a nice part of town, short walk to bars, restaurants, and the metro.

Crappy looking building, but inside was ok. Indivual rooms were well presented with all the necessary ammenities. Helpful staff.

There was no tourist information at all. Not even a map.But the staff was verry friendly.

Very good location, nice kitchen and WiFi connection, small couple room, room and bathrooms not so clean (lot of dust in the room), but nice in general, good value for money, nice staff

I think this is the most awesome place to stay in St-Petersburg! The location is really great, we went to all attractions on foot, the area is 3 minutes walk to Nevsky Prospect and it's really safe to walk at night. The staff is helpful and friendly, you can also have breakfast for free and use refrigerator or cooker. So, I would recommend this accomodation to everybody who wants to have great vacations with great economy :)

Staff were vague, unhelpful, uninterested and at times rude. The staff couldn't even give us a city map and could not direct us to an information centre. The showers were a joke - no water pressure at all (we were reduced to rinsing ourselves with a dribble) and the toilets were not clean (pee all over the floor constantly) and ran out of toilet paper regularly. The room we stayed in was over heated and could not be adjusted. It has the potential to be a good hostel if these are addressed.

A little tricky to find, since I had to head down an alley that had a dodgy tattoo and piercing shop at the end. Also the rooms were very hot with no fresh air, but everything else was good.

I stayed at Babushka House for 3 nights. I need to say it\'s one of the best hostels I have ever stayed at! To compare with, next I stayed in one of the top rated Moscow hostels and the latter was nothing close to Babushka. First of all, great value for money - and they even give you breakfast. Great standard for a hostel. The staff is really superfriendly and very helpful. The location is very good - close to the main road. I would have no hesitation in recommending it to any of my friends.

Really nothing to complain about the hostel. Excellent service and good location, easy to find, not far away from famous Nevsky Prospect. Moreover, the “Babushka House” was very clean and stylish. But most worth mentioning is the very nice and helpful staff, which helped us to organize our stay – e.g. buying a concert Ticket in Russian-speaking Ticket offices… or even the helpful organization of contacting the consulate general after my passport got lost ;-) Special thanks to the great staff!!

Babushka house was brilliant. close to main sights which made it really easy to walk around on foot. otherwise there were 2 metro lines just down the street. Hostel itself was cosy, the staff were really friendly. Only negative comment would be the size of the rooms which are quite small. Everything else was great!

It was a fortune for me to find this hostel! The location is great - I could get almost everywhere by walk! The staff is amazing - guys, thank you for your constant care! It really helped me a lot! I'm in love with this place and I'm definately coming back soon!! With love from Alex!

I liked this place very much! I would say it's the best hostel I've even seen! The staff is amazing! It's very clean and cosy there. I will definately recommend this place to everyone!

There was a lot to like about Babushka House: location, cleanliness, comfy mattress, decent facilities. Unfortunately, this was ruined by the tiny, windowless, stuffy dorm with paper-thin walls. I could hear the washing machine, the toilets, the showers, the movies being watched by the night staff and the loud conversations of the night staff, and as a consequence sleep was more of a concept than a reality.

More like hotel than a hostel. They have everything, but no character. There are better for the some money.

This hostel was a joke. Don't bother. I had problems before I arrived and it progressively got worse. I emailed about booking a taxi pick up and never got a response. I arrived to the girl at reception asleep andthenonce awake, so vague and unhelpful. No map and when I asked where should I go to get coffee and breakfast, she vaguely motioned outside and replied, out there. Ahhh yeah. 3 Russian guys in my dorm were aggressive, smoking and drinking in the room. in the end i moved hostels.+ NOISY

This was an ideal base from which to explore St Petersburg. The rooms were adequate in size, excellent value, staff exceedingly friendly and helpful. All in all a great place to stay!

We enjoyed staying at Babushka House! Staff is great and helpful. Unfortunately some rooms have no windows, which makes the air sticky. But I would definitely recommend the hostel!
