The owner is a strong character! Listen to the feedback before you visit- know what your getting yourself into! Overall cool, clean and chilled out place to stay. Good communal area with big choice of DVD's. Staff very helpful and free internet access. Where you pay for Tubing is less than 5 mins walk so great location and also close to river which is a great place to have a beer.Good communal area with big choice of DVD's. We stayed at Babylon for 6 nights and absolutely loved it, Nick and the management couldn't have been more helpful and were a lot of fun! A great place to meet other travellers with a cool chill out area with a bar were you can watch a selection of hundreds of dvds, and an awesome roof top area as well. Its located right in the centre of all the action where you want to be in veng vieng. Avoid at all costs. In 6 months on the road, this has been our worst experience to date. The hostel itself is fine but the english manager is an alcoholic who sleeps in the main TV lounge and boozes as soon as he wakes. He verbally abused 2 girls we were with after they asked if they could play pool when we got in one night. 2 groups we met separately had similar problems. 2 girls were blackmailed for US$500 to release their passports - he threatened to plant drugs and tell police if not paid.Avoid at all costs. Good central location. Free wifi is good bonus, considering internet is really expensive in town.Good hang out area. Bit more than some other guesthouses and not necessarily very comfy beds, check the sheets. Good for net and location but you could stay at something on the river at a better price. We had a really good time here, was in a really good place and was very clean. Internets was free but is really slow..And it was nice to collapse after tubing infront of family guy and a plate of cheesy chips!
