The location is great, close to chapel st and transport and it has excellent facilities (kitchen, lounge, bar, balcony, backyard, good showers,...). The place is a bit rundown by now, but it is still ok for a budget backpackers hostel. If you know what to expect, it adds to the charm. Main backdraw is the quality of sleep due to noise and the really old mattresses. The hostel is not staffed over night, so people behave like crazy. If you value a good nights sleep, better stay away.

Stayed 2 nights in a 6 bed dorm and 3 in a private. Location and the Facilities are really good. They have a nice Backyard also. This is a good and a bad thing because ignorant people are using it every night to play very loud music and getting drunk and behave very badly until next morning. Nothing special in Australia I know but at this place there´s no Staff at night. Sleeping was on 3 of 5 nights impossible. Close the Backyard or get Staff for the Night. Other Hostels can manage it also!

First stay at a hostel in Australia, staff was minimal but friendly and helpful. Very small hostel so had a great community vibe. Couldn't be in a better location!

Back of Chapel gave us a good first-impression. The welcome was nice with the easy-going but straight forward owners. We felt comfortable there with our roomates and the staff. Many customers did not keep the kitchen clean but every morning it was tidied up by someone from the hostel. The bathrooms, though, were kept clean. The location was awesome as well as the Internet connection. More light into the living room and the bedrooms would be appreciated. We'd go back again!

The people were generally welcoming; it's a close-knit community of folk that are staying more than just a few days. The bed was clean, but the room felt musty and damp and had a poor odor to it at times. The front desk is only available at certain hours, but they are willing enough to make arrangements for those getting in late/early. Overall a decent experience, and much friendlier than some other places I've been to.

Nice Hostel with a great atmosphere. It gets cleaned every single day, breakfast is until 11am- on weekends even till 12! I stayed longterm like many other guests and we were like a little family. The location is great- close to two big supermarkets, aldi, bottelshops, many restaurants, bars and cafes, shops,... there is always something to do on chapel street- night and day time!

Absolutely lovely! The two guys at the front desk are the owners, and I love that you have daily direct contact with people your age that are well travelled and super nice! The hostel has become my temporary home, and I could not be more grateful for everything. Rooms are always full, and there is a growing number of people that are staying long term because they love it so much! It's awesome!
