Very clean, professional with excellent amneties and friendly and helpful staff. The location is good as well - close to the LRT. A bit functional though without much character - there was a bit of a business-like atmosphere when I was there and not much of a social scene. Maybe just the guests at the time.

Hostel is very cute, but we had no fun at all. All people could do was watching some movies - without any beer.

Den the security guard was particularly helpful. Thanks to him I saved a lot of time by finding the fastest walking routes and money by walking instead of taking the taxis which get stuck in jams.

The place is good as it near to KL tourist spots. The staff and even the security guard that left midnight is really friendly as he even gave me many tips in going around the KL and other tourist destination in whole Malaysia. Keep the good work Backhome!

The beds are comfortable, clean and tidy. But aircon was not working well. Staff is very hospitable and tries every effort to meet your request. Special brewed coffee was provided this time (complimentary). Will definitely stay here again.

Comfy wide beds in 4-bed dorms (in built, so you're not waken up everytime your bunkmate shifts in the bed). Reading light and charging point above bed - bonus. Airconditioning lovely - though it is switched off during the day, when dorm is unused. 10 mins down Jalan Tun HS Lee to Petaling St market and eats. 5 mins to LRT Masjid Jamek. One of the better hostels I've stayed in. Quiet hostel, but is in a noisy part of town (early evening, esp), so ear plugs highly recommended.

Although we've rated this highly, and the architecture of the building was stunning for a hostel, the staff seemed to be bound by lists of rules and regulations. For the best hostel in Malaysia (as voted) we expected somebody to actually greet us when we arrive and to give us some more information when we were in the hostel. The mattresses in the dorm were folded up so 'people cant sit on spare beds' which is reasonable, but gives the feeling that we have to be on our best behaviour.GREAT films!

Best hostel you can find in the heart of Kuala Lumpur. Great location, affordable price and wicked clean! Even if you stay in dormitory you can have the best service and room you can get from any budget hostel. I will definetly stay again here if I visit Malaysia :)

Fantastic hostel, amazing location and great staff who were more than happy to show us places to go and routes to go there - even gave us an umbrella when it looked like it was about to rain! Would definitely stay again.

One of the most comfortable beds I have slept on. Everything was super clean and I can't stress how friendly the staff was. Definitely a more laid-back place rather than a party hostel...but they have a great selection of movies for those rainy nights. They were also willing to accommodate me when I had a 5 am arrival and even offered to change the reservation dates accordingly.

The area is a bit shady at night, but things seem to be secure getting in and out of the hostel. Full size lockers in the rooms are great and every bed has a lamp and outlets. Nice place!

great hostel, have stayed in a few in KL and this is probebly the best...beds are comfortable, showers and bathrooms are clean, location is great and has a very homely feel. The breakfast is simple, toast with tea and coffee but this is typical in most hostels in KL

Favorite hostel I've stayed at. They thought of everything to make your stay more comfortable, convenient, and fun. My only suggestion is that sometimes the staff were misinformed about which attractions in KL were open on which days.
