Stayed in a lot of hostels around the world but this has to be one of the best, really nice interior garden and a cool atmosphere,

Great hostel, I've stayed before and will stay again. Great place, great staff and Attila even took us snowboarding for free, awesome stay going well beyond anything you could expect.

There was an issue with the the heating currently but the owner was on to it immediately and tried to fix it.

It was a perfect stay at the Backpack Guesthouse! The rooms were clean. The staff was very, very, very nice! The location is not that good, but no problem at all, because of good puplic transports just a few meters away. From keleti train station, just take bus #7 or #173 to get there! Thanks for the wonderful time! We will definitely come back!

Best hostel in Budapest? I guess I don't have a point of comparison so it would be a bit of an unfair statement. Regardless, Backpacker Guesthouse is magnificent! It is a wonderful spot for solo-travelers who prefer to avoid the all-night party scene, preferring the feel of staying at a friend's place. The only downside is the location, which is off-set from downtown (the city has very good public transportation, which helps a lot). Other than that, it's pretty perfect!
