Great hostel with a really really nice atmosphere. The lounge downstairs is fun,and at the same time is rely quiet upstairs. Best hostel in Adelaide for sure.

Excellent budget option for staying in Adelaide. Yes, it's a hostel with a bar in it, and as such you can expect a younger backpacker crowd, and the kind of atmosphere that goes with it. So, if you can't handle that, then don't bother. That aside, I had no trouble getting in and out, and found the place to meet all of my basic needs. Furthermore, it was a nice quiet location that was still close to Rundle St. And staff were super-friendly and always happy to help out there they could.

For me it was the lack of fun atmosphere. I arrived and the reception lady was very pleasant and have me lots of advice for the city etc (not sure of name, probably in late thirties).By 8pm I was ready to meet people but they were all just at the table on their laptops, no one was socialising, no organised events advertised. The different girl behind the counter was more interested in her phone to talk to guests. Thankfully Reece walked in so and actually made my night. Employ people like him

over all a good hostel.. Just make sure you're not in room 2 (on the corner with the traffic light beeping all night)

We were in the 'Cave' which couldn't be more fitting, too many people and not a lot of light. Overall OK but kitchen closing at 9.30 was too early. Cleanliness good but staff spent up to 3hours cleaning bathrooms in the morning whenever everyone needed them. Staff seriously need to learn how to smile and generally seemed to have a severe attitude problem. However BBQ on Wed was fab and Toms pool game was first time all occupants participated in something, should do more nights like this!

What a lovely place to stay, room cleaned daily and such friendly staff. The only down I guess is if you are in room 12 the noise from the lounge can be a bit too much, and having to walk through common room area to get changed too!! Free barby is genius and such a bubbly happy place to stay would def recommend!

Very very basic, We were meant to stay in the backpackers but they moved us over into 'The Guesthouse'. This had no WiFi, No bar nothing just rooms with a small kitchen area. The backpackers itself was ok the bar costs were reasonable and free pool. Movie nights and cheap pizza nights were very popular. Wouldn't stay there again as i never felt clean there, the buildings need a lot of work, probably pulling down to be honest.

My friend and I really loved this hostel. It had a great friendly atmosphere. Staff were very helpful and the communal area was great for meeting other travellers and the hostel put on social evenings to encourage people to mingle and make friends (including a free BBQ!). Would definitely stay again and the location was good- within walking distance of Victoria Square where local supermarket and tram stop is.

Great atmosphere. The rooms and lockers could be more secure, ie, locks provided. Staff could be more knowledgable of Adelaide. Great BBQ on Wednesdays. I really enjoyed the pub crawl: the organiser was great.

This was the best hostel I've ever stayed in, Great atmosphere, awesome community facilities, amazing BBQ buffet on Wednesdays, free bike hire and a breakfast that is refilled and cared for! Would recommend everyone to stay there!

Really nice hostel with plenty of perks, such as free internet, free breakfast and free BBQ on Wednesday followed by a killer pool competition in which I performed poorly :) The staff are really nice and a good resource of things to do and see in Adelaide. Really good vibe in the hostel and easy to meet other travelers there. Unfortunately I had to wait for a long time to check in since they didn´t have their linen ready and housekeeping was a bit unorganized. Definitely recommend them

Staying at Backpack OZ was quite good. While having free breakfast, I saw a cockroach though. SoI had to give up having breakfast from the next morning. Anyway location was quite good, near the free loop bus stop and very quiet. Hiring free bicycle and free umbrella was very convenient. But the staffs are so unkind.
