Backpack Oz has a good location where free City Loop (99C) is just next door. And it just take about 10mins walking to the China town and Central market. Eventhough it seems a bit old for the building and rooms, facilities are great and clean. I love most is the free Wi-fi, free DVD, free breakfast and the free coffee n tea with milk all day!

Great hostel, staff are very friendly and helpful, and its quite a small, closely knit hostel so quite easy to meet people. Free breakfast, free bbq on Wednesdays and a cheap bar are also highlights. Only bad things are the free wi fi (veeery slow) and the location (about a 10 minute walk from city centre).

Decent but nothing amazing. Our room(room 12 a 7 bed dorm) was right next to the tv/bar area. The photos on the website are deceptive. The bar/pool room/tv area/dining area are all one space and the kitchen is quite small. The hostel is fine but quite small.

Very average hostel. There are 2 buildings - main building has dorm rooms, separate building for the private rooms. I tried both. The dorm building has poor facilities, dirty, old bathrooms kitchen etc. Private rooms are nice though... Staff, eh.

Really nice, clean hostel in a good location but the people weren't very social. If you are looking to make friends I wouldn't recommend this hostel. But it's pretty quite and clean and the staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was really small though.

Staff were sooo helpful and very welcoming, nothing was to much trouble for them. I have never staid in a hostel were I was always referred to by name. The bathrooms could be updated, being very old they never looked clean even though they were, but that was the worst if it. I would stay at Backpack Oz again.

An ok hostel overall, but didnt find it great. Rooms are very small, staff is not always that helpful and kitchen was very crowded. It could also use more daily organized activities. The WiFi Internet is so slow that it's almost useless! On the positive side: Facilities are clean, beds were very comfy and the location is good (although Adelaide is not that lively).

Enjoyed my stay. I really liked the bar, the BBQ and free pool table. Please have them do something about the smell of the Cave. It was repulsive.

Had a great time and even booked an extra night. Down side was our car got a parking ticket but everything with the hostel was great. The Wednesday night BBQ was awesome! Also we were late checking in. The front desk made alternate arrangements for us to get our keys after hours. Way to go for above and beyond service!

Staff is a bit rude, you can't bring your own alcohol since they have a bar. It is not honest to advertise free wifi when there is actually a wifi signal but the connection is so bad you can't even open a google page. Beds are not comfortable and the bathrooms are not really clean. Location is good in the center of town.
