we really enjoyed our short stay at backpack oz. the internet was fast. I really liked the living/common room areas, the staff and other backpackers were extremely friendly. The bathrooms were a little dirty, but I think that could be down to the age of the property. I would recommend the hostel to my friends and other travelers. the staff were helpful and was excellent value for money!

The atmosphere is really good in this hostel and they offer free dinner on Wednesdays. The only thing that I did not like so much was that the rooms are above the cummunal areas & the hostel pub so it is a bit noisy as long as people are there. But the rest is great.

The kitchen was well equipped and I enjoyed the free barbecue night on Wednesdays. Also a few other social nights whilst I was there including DVD nights on Sundays with free popcorn and a killer pool competition. All good fun. The staff were really helpful and booked some tours for me. The beds were really comfortable but the room was a bit cold. There was a nice vibe to the hostel.

Good Hostel! organized and clean facilities! On the website they say: Free Fast Wi-fi... The Wifi is veeeeeery bad and slow. Breakfast is good! They close the kitchen 9.30 pm, I don't like that cuz u cannot get into the fridge for ur food. People are coming in groups to this hostel, that makes it hard to manage a good atmosphere... Otherwise its a good place. I liked Hostel 109 more!

I checked into the 6 bed female dorm at Backpack Oz and could not last a day. When I stepped in,I was greeted by an explosion of mess thanks to the occupants who looked like they hv been living there for yrs.I was woken up in the morning by a man's voice in the bottom bunk.Locks on toilet doors half broken and lights go off(energy saving).I had to turn them on in my towel. Some showers no hot water at night.Lack of power points.Stay at The Guesthouse for cleaner, newer facilities.

Good hostel with lovely staff, big common area to hang out in and meet people and free breakfast is always a bonus and oh very handy when getting the airport shuttle bus as it is directly across the road from the hostel!
