I loved the Ecohostel. The beds/rooms were very clean, the staff was very nice and the place is in the back, not on a noisy road. It is also really in the center, you can walk to nice clubs etc`. And you can also meet nice people in the common room with about 60/40 ratio in favor of foreigners - but I guess that depends on the time. Would stay there again.

although the concept behind the hostel (ecohostel) is great one, and the facilities are well taken care of for the most part, it was very difficult to communicate with the staff in any other language than russian

Too far from metro station, lockers too small and not in the room, showers in the kitchen....they should clean the toilets more often. I.E. twice per day.

staff were great, when we arrived we had no greeting, and people on the desk were slightly unhelpful but that passed quickly. maybe standard in russia, but seemed like there were a fair number of staff friends hanging about the entire time/staying in the rooms. one who seemed pretty unwelcoming to our presence, but others were lovely. found it difficult to find at first, think the wrong address is listed perhaps.

Average hostel, ok to spend a few days. As for being eco-friendly : we found it hard to fall asleep so we opened a window, whereas it was -10°C outside. And next morning, we found out that there were electrical heaters running in the room...

It's an okay hostel, with basically everything you need. The showers could be better though. Staff was welcoming, music was great, the common room is perfect, the rooms are big enough (even dorms) and the beds are comfy. Overall, i enjoyed the experience.

This hostel is a really nice place to stay. Staff is very friendly and the hotel is very clean. To me, the most oustanding things they offer are both the ktichen ( u can save some money cooking there) and the common room (it`s very confortable!) To be realistic, I would say that the only negative thing is that the hostel is , at least, 6 blocks away from the closest metro station

Just need to fix the third shower.... very nice hostel, one of the best I have been. And as suggestion, it may need individual ligths in each bed, so people arriving late dont have to turn on full room lights.

Baisc hostel. Simple furnished. Not very cosy. Staff is not very welcoming, but ok. Overall it is clean and fulfills its purpose as a place to sleep, but it is not a cosy place to spend spare time in the hostel. Location is great, in the middle of Basmany.

Great hostel! Staff is super friendly, walls are painted in bright colours, everything is clean. And only some 10-15 minutes from the Red Square. Will definitely come back when I visit Moscow next time!

This was a great base to explore Moscow from and it was nice to be able to recycle for once! We were looking for a super comfortable, clean place to stay and this is what we got. The whole staff was very helpful when we needed to buy tickets and get tourism advice and they took care of our registration for free. Also the kitchen and lounge area were nice and spacious. Thanks!

This hostel is in its early days and it shows. It's well located about 15 mins from Red Square and some nice cafes and restaurants. Owner more than helpful with free registration. However there are improvements needed. One cupboard for guests food but two for staff?. Two toilets in one room with no partition is pretty pointless. Showers are in the kitchen, bizarre. Needs bigger table for guests to eat and more than 4 stools. Bathrooms a little dirty + need to ask for loo roll constantly.

I chose this hostel mainly because I thought it would have recycling facilities, unlike all other hostels I've stayed at in Russia. It certainly did not disappoint on that score. However, one negative aspect was that most of the staff were rather surly. Except for one friendly receptionist and the friendly owner, the people manning the reception would never smile, would sometimes not return greetings, and in general seemed annoyed that I was there. Not quite what I expected.
