The owner was great (Mr. Choi!) I only stayed a night but it was good. the bathroom wasnt as clean as I'd like but you get what you pay for and this place is definately value for money. The location is FANTASTIC for Hongdae.

The heater was a bit troublesome, but that was a very minor problem. The rooms were clean and basic items like towels, soap, shampoo and even power adapters were available! Mr Choi was very friendly and helpful with any enquiries that we might have, and it was a tremendous pleasure having stayed in his hostel. The location is also close enough to the night-life but far enough that it was not too noisy. It was a very good experience!

I loved staying at the backpacker friends guesthouse! Choi was so helpful! I really wanted to go to the DMZ and Jeju Island, and Choi helped me book my flights and he found a great price for me (half of what I saw previously) and he also booked me into a DMZ tour that picked me up from the hostel in the morning. The rooms are clean and comfortable. The area is alive and energetic. If you want to see the Korean nightlife or do some great shopping this is the place to be.

took me a while to feel relaxed there but after a few days it was very good, i would stay there again when i go back to seoul, the hosts have lots of info and are very helpful and sociable

Location: 10~15min by foot from Hongik subway station. ~5min by foot walking, radius for all clubs in the area.. Just bathroom not so good.. 6/10

The owner, Choi was extremely helpful, one of the best hostel staff we have come across during our travels. The hostel had a very homely feel. The location was perfect! Would defiantly stay again!

it was very nice and cozy place. I arrived very late night but all staffs are very kind and helpful. It adds also free laundry and water machine. I'm very glad to see meet great Backpacker Friend.

I really enjoyed our week-end in the backpacker friends guest house. Even though we just stayed for 2 nights, we appreciated the location and the atmosphere there. The owner and his friends were really nice to us and are really fun. I will definitly go back there if I need to stay in a guest house again ^^

This hostel is absolutely great! Mr. Choi is really friendly and helpful. Clean, convenient, and the best location in Seoul. You won't regret staying here and I would definitely recommend it.

This location in the Hongdae area of Seoul cannot be beat! Literally stumbling distance from some of the most exciting nightlife spots in the city. Definitely recommend it to others living in Korea who wish to crash in the area and wake up in a prime spot in the city the next day!
