Good hostel, brilliant location for town and the beach. Nice friendly atmosphere in the common areas. Quite warm in the dorms but not too bad. Had a good stay

It rained both days I stayed there and heaps of water was leaking through into the bathroom and kitchen. Some of the staff is friendly and some are passive aggressive. Kitchen is clean and had lots of cookware and utensils. Lots of airflow in the common area. Small hostel so everyone knows each other. Rooms were very bright but the old windows clanged throughout the night due to the wind - hard to sleep.

Stayed here for a few nights. It was okay. Asked for an 8 bed and put in a 4 bed which was nice. Managers are friendly if not a little odd at times. Only a small hostel with bathrooms either on the top floor or in the basement which was a bit pants. Great location, near the beach and near the cbd. Shame Newcastle is so small really it rained continuously so wasn't much to do except go to the cinema. If you're British there's an actual chippy down the road.

This hostel had comfy beds and nice bedding, the staff where lazy though and just wanted to be at the beach although where great with helping out tours etc!! None of the single lights in the bedrooms worked and 1 bathroom for 8 people was difficult aswell as the locks not working. Overall it was an average hostel close walk to the bus stop was a positive and the wifi in your room is top notch!!

I found it quite hard to communicate with the owner,he was quite strange and it was a little awkward at times! But his colleague was so friendly and helpful and even walked with me to my bus at 4:30am to help with my bags and ensure I was ok at that time! Only one plug socket in the room right next to someone else bed...he needs to provide an extension lead that reaches middle of the room so that everyone can charge their phones etc during the night.

Very nice hostel, nice staff to make is feel like home quickly, very clean, 5-min walking from the beach. Very good to take a break from a big city like Sydney!

Excellent place that I would thoroughly recommend ! Fantastic location just 1 minute walk to beach but still right in the city so you have the best of both worlds. The staff are all super friendly and the manager went out of his way to organise a wine tour and sand boarding. Super clean and great friendly vibe. Initially I was going to stay just 2 nights but loved this place so much I stay for a week. The surfboard hire was also great. Thankyou...
