One of the most fantastic hostels I've stayed at! Great location, brilliant, friendly and very helpful staff, nice rooms - would definitely recommend!!

Such lovely staff! We missed our flight so we went back to the hostel and they gave us our private room back at a dorm price!! So sweet! They also have an awesome tv room with really good movies!

If you want to stay in a quiet area in Miraflores its a good choice! The staff is really nice and gives you a duble or triple room for the dorm price if you are travelling in a group of that size. You can see the ocean from the rooftop and it's not more than 2 minutes to the coast road. The rooms are a little bit musty, but it's good value for money!

This was one of my favourite hostel stays during my last 10 weeks of backpacking. Management and staff are great and the atmosphere is very relaxed and makes you feel like you are at home. The hostel is so close to the parks by the beach and so location is perfect. Miraflores is also a beautiful, clean, safe area to stay in. I really recommend this hostel!

I have travelled extensively through Latin America, and this is easily the best hostel I have stayed at. It´s super clean and friendly. The owners know the city very well and give great advice in regards to directions around the city and the country. I would defnitely recommend Family Backpackers to any kind of traveller.

The wifi didn't work in the rooms (very common in Peru), but it was good in the common area. We had a very nice time at this hostel. Great location 1 block from the beach. I'd recommend it.

This hostel is very nice and safe. We slept in a dorm and there was no key, but there were lockers we could use. But even then our belongings were safe. Of course it´s always good to be careful with your passport etc. But when you leave or come back they check your name, so no random people come into the hostel. The atmosphere is relaxed. The staff is nice, helpfull and open. Easy to talk to and they tell you where the great places are! Bathrooms are very clean to! One word: GREAT!

We met so many awesome people and absolutely loved the free Spanish lessons.

Nice place to stay. All the staff was kind and helpful. Miraflores is probably the best bet for dangerous ol' Lima. Reasonable value for safe lodging and a 5 minute walk to the ocean and a park. As for Lima, exercise a high degree of caution ...... your kidneys will fetch a good price on the black market so avoid getting floor-licking drunk or you might wake up in a bathtub on a bed of ice minus a couple vital organs.

One of the best hostels in South America, otherwise I wouldn't stay there again :). Book ahead as it is small and popular. Except small hostelworld sticker there is no sign that this is hostel. strongly recommend

Backpackers Family House is a really recommendable place. The rooms are very basic and simple, but the hostel is in a calm and safe neighbourhood in Miraflores and walking distance to the center. All staff is very nice and helpful. Gonzalo gave me a lot of infos about Cuzco and explained me everything, though it was not his working hour. Feels a bit Iike staying with friends. Thanks for a welcoming stay in Lima!

Good service, friendly staff and clean.

I have done extensive travel as a professional musician and by far BACKPACKERS FAMILY HOUSE is my favorite place to stay . I have had no problems that the staff could not help me with .The location is GREAT . I truly feel like I am at home when I stay here . Security is very important , and I sleep very soundly here as well . Pedro , Christian ,Gonzalo and Cesar ,even the housekeeping staff make me feel like family . I have extended my stay when in Lima to spend relaxing time here . TOP RATING

Very helpful staff and great location!

Nice and clean hostel with very friendly stuff. It's in a quite and safe area, not far from the main attractions of Miraflores. The wifi works very well and the rooms are spaceous and clean. It's not a party hostel, so a good sleep is guaranteed. Will definitely go back there if I return to Lima.
