It was a very clean and beautiful hostel. I stayed in the 16-bed female dorm but don't be fooled by the number of the beds in the dorm, as it feels like you're staying in a 4-bed dorm because the dorm is quite spacious and beds are bunkbeds but are seperated from other bunkbeds by a wall or column so you have privacy and also the room overlooks the street but was very quite and calm at night.

Facilities are so clean and good. Especially, the kitchen and living room were large enough. However, unfortunately when we stayed here, there were more than 3 noisy strangers(not guests of hostel)in our room. Some of them were couple. I asked the staff of the receiption located in next building. However it was not helpful. They showed up again. Finally I let them get out of the room, but it was already 4 am. There is no reception desk in this hostel. It means that anybody can get inside here

Owner Comment (Show)
We are sorry that you had problems with unwelcome guests in the room! We do our best by go around the buildings during night time to avoid this, I am sorry we didn't succeed this time. You are correct that there's no reception in this building, but the front door is always locked and only guests with our keys are able to enter.

All the comments I read about Backpackers Göteborg were too good to be true so maybe I expected to much but I was disappointed. There were not enough bathrooms and in the morning there was no toilet paper left..that never happened to me before! The kitchen is nice but there is no nice room to gather or enjoy the food. But the location is very nice and more central then I expected.

Everything was ok. There was a sauna as well!

Stayed for 2 nights but hardly anyone else staying there while I was there, which isn't a criticism just makes it harder to judge. Clean facilities with big common room and big kitchen. Staff were friendly and location is pretty decent being half an hours walk from train station. Would recommend it.

We were surpised to find a room with bunk beds and not adjacent twin beds as we expected. Otherwise the room was very small but without any problems. Breakfast is very nice if you're willing to pay for it.

Stay at the main hostel instead of the cheaper annex. Much better atmosphere.

The staff is very helpful, the hostel gets cleaned twice a day, computers for free with internet connection, breakfast is rich in choices. My room was nice and the beds were new. Very pleasant atmosphere!!!! Thank you guys, I highly recommend it.

Our stay at the hostel was smooth and nice. The staff was truly helpful and the hostel had everything you would expect, and more. The best thing though is it's surroundings; walking distance to some of Gothenburg's best parks, as well as café's and restaurants.

One of the best hostels I have ever been to. Very clean and nice. 30min. walk or 5min. tram ride to the center though and you have to bring your own linens and towels. But overall it was great!

A clean, well run hostel, 15 minutes walk from the centre of town, well connected by public transportation (buses and trams) . Whilst there are some pubs and restaurants in the area, the general vibe of the locale seemed to be low key. For those travelling on a budget, the kitchen is well equipped with utensils, there are communal herbs and spices and there's a Lidl close by allowing tasty food cooked and shared. The nearest Systembolaget is on Linnegatan and shuts at 6pm Monday-Friday

It's handy to get there by either tram or bus from the city centre. After getting off the station, it only takes 5 min to walk to the hostel which is easy to spot. Surrounding is quiet district which enables you to have good sleep without any noise. I have to say it's one of the cleanest and tidiest hostels I've ever been to. Everything is so new and most of them are from IKEA which I like so much. Definitely will go there again if I go to Gothenburg again.

Fantastic hostel with wonderfully helpful staff. Very easy access for local trams but only 10 minute walk to centre of town. Highly recommended.
