Great hostel, good location within walking distance of the opera house and harbour bridge. Staff are lovely, helpful and give great recommendations of places to go. Hostel is clean, spacious and modern and breakfast is basic but with a good selection of cereals/jam.

Everything was great no problems with anything. Hireage of padlocks for the lockers would be an added convenience.

Pros Excellent location, every thing important is at walking distance. Nice breakfast. Good internet. TV lounge and additional mini kitchen was nice idea. Good value for money. Very happening area and THE area to stay in Sydney. Every one I told I am staying at Kings cross every ... smiled and winked (i dont know why ;) Cons It was little hot in the rooms (April). Bunk beds were little shaky (i mean, if person on the top bed moved, lower bed also moved). can be fixed

We were staying in a room of 10 and there were a few people that had been staying there for months which meant that their stuff was everywhere. The room wasnt very clean as I assume the cleaner just emptied the bins and cleaned around their stuff. The en-suite bathroom was also tiny and dirty, also not really practical to have a tiny bathroom for 10 people to share. The lack of lifts and 2 flights of stairs to our room were difficult with suitcases too. The security was good though.

Can't imagine a better place staying at Sydney: right at the heart of King's Cross, very close to the subway and a real haven for all of you who want to discover that amazing city in a charming atmosphere

Had a great stay at Backpackers HQ. Met a lot of really great people and had a nice atmosphere. Kitchen was nice and the bathroos were ok. Most rooms have a window opening to the courtyard which closes at 10pm but can be a bit noisy the rest of the day.

Probably the best hostel we've stayed at so far! The staff are all really helpful and passionate about the up-keep of the hostel. We got given a free upgrade to a private room with an ensuite because we'd been double booked which was really cool. The free breakfast is great and you get unlimited wifi too which is a luxury! The social area and kitchen is always clean and really nicely designed. It also has a cosy Tv room. Would definately stay here again!

David aka George I stayed here for just over 4 weeks and i Would recommend to anyone to stay here if you travel to Sydney. Right in the heart of kings cross plenty to do 20mins walk to the opra house. Staff are great the rooms are clean and tidy. Free Internet was a big plus although it was a bit slow if everyone was using it at tea time. The best bits are the people you meet there and the large open court yard.

The bathroom wasn't very clean at times, hair and dirt stuck to your feet, beds were very comfortable but could of done with a better ventilation in the room as it was usually hot and sticky when trying to sleep, kitchen was tiny so had to cue up to use the cooker.

We stayed for 5 nights and had a pleasant stay. Big plus for the free WiFi and the great eating area. The beds were a little bit squeaky but otherwise a good hostel that I would recommend to anyone staying in Kings Cross.

Hq backpackers is really welcoming and cosy place to stay in Sydney! It's clean, well-kept and has a good athmosphere. Expect to sleep and take a rest between exploring The city or working here you can really spend time, make friends and feel homey. The staff will gladly help you if you have anything to ask relating to your stay in Sydney or for example applying a job. Definetly good value for money!!

The location was very central, and the room sizes were pretty big. However, because I went during the summer/spring time it was very hot in my room, and there was no AC or fan. There is free breakfast, which was fantastic, and the courtyard in the middle of the hostel was very nice. I really liked my stay here.

Great hostel! In a bit of a dodgy area but the hostel is secure, and pretty much across the street from the metro and only 2 stops from Bondi beach. The hostel has a great kitchen, free wifi and includes free breakfast. Highly recommend it!

Great hostel, located very close to city center (15 min walk), close to botanic garden and just walking distance from harbor bridge and opera house. Great choice of cafes and bars around. Managers are friendly and make you feel welcomed from moment you first walked in. Met a lot of wonderful people in a hostel and had just amazing time in this place. One of the best hostels i have ever been to. This is perfect place to stay for few days or even for few months.
