Great hostel! In a bit of a dodgy area but the hostel is secure, and pretty much across the street from the metro and only 2 stops from Bondi beach. The hostel has a great kitchen, free wifi and includes free breakfast. Highly recommend it!

Great hostel, located very close to city center (15 min walk), close to botanic garden and just walking distance from harbor bridge and opera house. Great choice of cafes and bars around. Managers are friendly and make you feel welcomed from moment you first walked in. Met a lot of wonderful people in a hostel and had just amazing time in this place. One of the best hostels i have ever been to. This is perfect place to stay for few days or even for few months.

I had a great time at Backpackers HQ. It's in easy walking distance to the city center but has great public transport connectivity, too. Get there with the airport shuttle, get to town, Bondi, Bronte etc. by bus or train, whatever you like. I loved the free breakfast with cereal, milk, tea, coffee, fresh fruit, toast and several spreads. The hostel has great character, its really beautifully designed, and the owners with their team are great! Thank you for a great time in Sydney!

Good location and the staff were helpful. Free wifi is a major plus, every hostel should have this. I had to rent cups from the hostel because apparently they don't have communal cups... I thought that was a little strange. Decent hostel though, I would return.

I only stayed a night but it seemed like a good spot with lots of character. The wifi was pretty bad and couldn't get it at all on my phone but got it fine on my tablet.

It was my first experience with a hostel, but it was such a good one! I arrived a bit nervous because it was my first travel alone, but the staff was so nice to me. I slept in a 8 girls room, and it was very clean and neat. Kitchen was also clean and I loved the atmosphere and interior with the little garden. The only thing I could think of was that the beds are a bit noisy and the free wifi didn't work all the time. But everything else was perfect! Will definitely come back again.

The hostel is nice and well decorated, it's located in a very quiet street but in a busy district. It's a bit more expansive than other hostels I've been to, but it's cleaner too.

This hostel was so buzzy but in a fabulous way. I would and did go back and stay another night. The staff are so friendly and the breakfast and wifi make it such a great place with a terrific start to your day! The only improvements I would suggest would be a/c in the rooms and possible breakfast area? You guys were great thanks for a top stay!

I was in room n°2: (6 bed dorm ensuite). The common area are very very clean, there is every thing you need in the kitchen. The public bathroom are super. HQ is definitely a beautiful hostel. I would just say that it was too hot in my room and the ventilation noise all day was boring. the staff is simply the best (vicki & greg). my private bathroom was dodgy toughs. still need to work on bedroom space to improve the quality

Great stay - staff were friendly and approachable, and the kitchen and tv area were great. Rooms got a bit hot with no A/C only fans, but copeable. Close to kings cross station and lots of eateries. Bathroom door in our room was broken/had a large gap where you could see people showering! Similar price to other hostels in Sydney, but clean and great facilities. No cups was very annoying unless you carried one they gave you on check in..

I found loads of 20cm long women's hair on my bedding!! But the rest is indeed marvellous. Probably the best hostel in Sydney! Free breakfast and free WiFi!
