Good lay out and the apartments didn't make you think you were in a dorm room. It's nice to have your own kitchen area, lounge, bathroom and balcony between just a few people. The staff were helpful and you can get access to pretty much everything you need - just make sure you have plenty of cash available when you check in as EVERYTHING needs a deposit!

The Staff was very unfriendly and unmotivated. The Room was ok, but one of the toilets was broken, so we have to share one toilet with 20 persons. There were Cockcroaches in the rooms as well. The Kitchen was very small and dirty, it was impossible to cook there without get pushed by someone.

i am so sorry to hear you didn't enjoy your time at the Holiday Village. I am sorry you didn't know we have a huge TV room with a 50inch LED Screen, we point this room out to everybody on check in. We do take pride in the cleanliness of our bathrooms, our staff spend a lot of time making sure they are kept to a high standard, unfortunately at night sometimes they won't be as clean as we would all like, but by the time you get up in the morning will be spotless. Our Hostel is strictly paying guests only, for the security of all our paying customers. We don't allow non paying guests onto our property and have security at night times to prevent this. Re the internet, we charge $1.00 for 15 minutes, in line with just about every other place in town, i am sorry you found this expensive. I do hope you managed to enjoy the free use of our bikes, surfboards and body boards which we provide to make your stay memorable. We do take negative criticism on board, so thank you for your comments and hope you enjoy the rest of your travels.

If you're 18 or up for a non stop party then this is the place for you! The dorm accommodation is shared 'apartments' so 2 bedrooms with 4 beds in each share a lounge and kitchen plus private bathroom. Maybe I just had a bad stay/bad guests in my accommodation but the front door was always left open, the place was cleaned often but not very well, you had to pay for everything as an extra and there was no wifi at all. Not my sort of place but depending on what you are looking for you may disagree

Thank you for your recent review, i am so sorry you didn't have a good experience at the Backpackers Holiday Village. We take pride in the cleanliness of our rooms and the whole property. Our rooms are cleaned by team of 3 cleaners every day of the week from 9am onwards and are finished by 1pm, it is hard to know how clean and tidy your room mates will be until you spend time with them. We do not go back into every room once they have been cleaned until 9am the next day. We expect and find that most backpackers try and keep the units as clean as we leave them, again, you don't know who you are going to be sharing with and how clean and tidy they will be and hope that they would shut the door behind them. Re you having to pay for everything extra, the only extra charge is $2.00 for a top sheet if you don't have your own. Unfortunately we do have to put deposits on most things, keys, cutlery and crockery, bikes, surfboards body boards, but we find if people have deposits on things they look after them a lot better. Our internet is $1.00 every 15 minutes, which is on par with most places in town. We do advise our customers where wifi is available but it is not free, you normally have to buy a coffee or food in order to use wifi in most cafes in town. We do try and provide a clean, fun and safe atmosphere for all our guests, but know it is hard to please everyone. i do hope you enjoy the rest of your time in Australia.

Really nice hostel, people were really social and there was party every night until 11 pm. Kitchen and bathrooms were clean, rooms and beds were more comfortable than in most hostels I have visited in Australia. I'd recommend!

Interesting place. Has a deposit for basically everything (including plates and cutlery!), but lots of things can be rented for free, which was amazing (surf boards, boogie boards, bikes, etc.). The renting of plates was a bit weird because you had to remember to take them back to your room with you or return them to reception, but it was also good because there wasn't a single dirty dish left in the kitchen! Apartment style rooms are also cool cause you have your own kitchen and chill out area.

Everything was great, there was a Canadian guy who worked at the front desk who was a douche, but other than that, a great experience
