The staff were friendly, but the location wasn\'t very good, although they put a shuttle on to the metro, it was only for a few hours in the morning and at night.

The host of the Backpacker is a very happy and kind guy. He always consider your need and help you with the travel in Boston. The hostel is clean and warm. The breakfast there is good. Strongly recommended.

Watch out for the shady guy who wears a tank top, drinks out of a gallon jug and eats red vines.

Very nice place to stay. Best price in town. Very nice staff, Ray\'s the man! It\'s outside of town, but with the free shuttle they provide you can get in to a nearby train station which gets you into downtown in 10 minutes.

Very good! The staff is excellent. But I would like to see more lockers for personal items, and bigger... I apreciate and recomend!

A wonderful nice friendly hostel! The staff and owner was always around and willing to help out or advise with anything, free regular shuttles to town were very useful. Plenty of cakes, donuts and bagels for free for breakfast. Lovely place. Only slight disadvantage was lack of proper locks for showers and toilet (had \"please knock\" signs instead). Bring your own padlock if you want to use a locker too but room security was very good so not a problem.

OK hostel. Staff were friendly, amenities functional and it was clean but very noisey and lots of creepy artwork.

Staff were very friendly and helpful. They offered to pick us up from the subway station outside of the regular shuttle hours and gave us lots of tips on things to see. The hostel itself needs more washrooms and showers (with locks on the doors!). The group I was travelling with made sure to get up early so we wouldn't have to wait in line for either. Putting mirrors in the rooms would be helpful as many girls had to use the washrooms in the morning to do makeup.

An excellent hostel! Beds clean, good free breakfast and coffee. Staff very helpful!! Chris helps with everything you need. And I was in a hurry to catch the grayhound bus during my last day, Ray was so nice to drive me there!

In general it was okay. It is just a little bit far away from the city center. Bad for party people.

Things to keep in mind when booking this hostel. 1.) The staff was exceptionally friendly and would go out of their way to help you. 2.) Do not bring any valuables with you unless you put them in a safety deposit box there. 3.) They provide you with linens. 4.) It\'s far from the city (Everette, Mass) 5.) Boys have a separate bathroom and shower. 6.) Girls share a bathroom and have a shower in their room. 7.) Front desk does not open until 8 am 8.) No printer

If you are looking for a great and inexpensive place to stay in Boston...This is it. It is not IN Boston Downtown, but that's not a problem at all. You are off the beaten track and in Boston in 12min by Metro. Public transit is cheap if you stay a couple days. Food, Restaurants and Bar nearby. Also FREE Shuttle to the Trainstaion Wellington in the morning and evening. Never used it though since it's only a 12min walk to the station.

Great hostel. Not very close from downtown boston but there is easy access with the metro (there are free shuttles from the hostel to the metro station in the morning and back in the evening - or just take a bus). Staff is very professional yet really warm and friendly. Place is pretty big, but it's still very friendly and housey. Definitely recommend this. Watch out for the prizes though, they change dependinc to the number of guests they get (so it tends to be more expensive in the summer).

Great hostel. Great value for money. Reviews before we stayed said the location was far out of Boston, but with the transport system in Boston and the hostel offering free shuttles to the train station it didn't make a difference. Staff was well organised and very knowledgeable about Boston and willing to help. They even turned their big theatre room downstairs into a game room when the celtics were Playing! Thanks guys!

Very nice staff, clean and quiet, free coffee and donuts in the morning, the only thing is it is located outside the city so u have to take the subway and the bus to go there.

As far as hostels go this was a great deal. My major complaint isthe location. it is not in boston which was fine, but it was also about a fifteen minute walk from the subway and hard to find. If you can afford something more expensive, but closer to the city I'd recommend it!

I spent just one night over there, but I really liked the place. The hostel is very clean, and the girl at the reception is very very nice, as soon as I asked her info about how to get to the train station, she offered to drive me there! And also the cleaning lady was so nice, and she suggested me a lot of cool places to see around Boston. The only thing it\'s that the hostel is a little bit far from the station (25 minutes walk) but the fact is that during the night you are forced to takethebus

Overall a good hostel. However would have preferred a bathroom per room rather then one shared between 16 people as it takes too long having to wait to use it in the mornings. The showers should also not be mixed gender and communal. Apart from that the staff were lovely and the rest of the hostel was great!
